I'm putting this here because it is in the air file we just loaded, but I presume it is also in the original (v10 IIRC) Babes scenario files we start with in Dec 2011.

Things look normal without drop tanks, the screenshot below is with drop tanks. Notice that on extended range the payload includes a bomb, but on normal range there is none (without drop tanks there is a torpedo).

I'm guessing that for this plane the drop tanks are meant for ferry only and that the extended range with drop tanks should not have a bomb.

Wish I could help you witpqs, but the only things I changed was data in the ceiling, max speed, climb, and maneuver columns (and the maneuver band columns). Everything else is just as it is in stock; guns, bombs, endurance, drop tanks, engines, and bears, oh my !! [8D]

Probably a gazillion legacy blivets still in there somewhere. Oh, well. Maybe you could start a list?

Yeah. It seems to be inverted.

Cool ! Speaking of which, I noticed an honest to gosh blivet that's going to require some work on device and airplane data data. The load cost for torpedoes was massaged a looong time ago for compatability with the rearm algorithm. Torp load costs are ok for the ship-based weapons, but became verblundgered for aircraft versions.

So ... gotta fix that and also check all the airplanes to make sure they use the 'air' version of a torp and not the 'nav' version.

I was going to start a new game and wondered if the file had been updated with these corrections yet?

I'm currently playing a PBEM using DBB 30 as the Allies. My opponent, Olorin, renamed the file for this scenario and added it to DBB "SCEN" folder. He is reporting that there was no change in the data presented. Is there a button that needs to be clicked on by the Japanese player to make this happen?? If so, which one and where?? Thanks!!
Similar issue here with scenario 028 (DDB-B).
Did you, eventually, manage to resolve the problem? How?

It is my understanding that the 'new airplane data files' were incorporated into all the Babes scenarios a number of weeks ago. You no longer need to download separate files, because they are the same on purpose.

So, how do I change the a/c data in an ongoing PBeM? Do I just have to replace the wpa028.dat in the SCEN folder with the one I download from the DDB scenarios website?

Yes, do that on both players' sides. Plus, when the next turn runs you should get confirmation messages/requests indicating a data change.

BTW, follow standard upgrade procedure, meaning run the turn resolution/combat replay with the same version (in this case, same data) that you gave orders with for that turn. In other words, do the turn resolution & combat replay first, then second put in the new files, then third give orders with the new files.

It worked.
Thank you very much.
