Update: I wasn't quite right about the Chally1 and it only having 42 rounds. It had a normal load of 44 rounds with 42 charge bins, each charge bin holding 1 Fin charge or 2 HESH charges.
Typical loadout was 15 APFSDS, 25 HESH and 4 Smoke.
Source is Simon Dunstan, 'Challenger Squadron' p16.
Dunstan also quotes in his New Vanguard book on the Chally1 that the ammo loadout was a 'minimum' of 44 rounds.
Looking on the web a lot of sources claim the Chally1 had 64 rounds, but I think that is just quoting the Chieftain limits.
So you could probably take your pic anywhere between 44 and 64 rounds. [:(]
I only came across this researching ammo limits for use with a miniatures game using FFoT3 rules with 'Assault' ammo counter lists. A lot of the Assault lists were out for the Brits.
It does also lead me on to ask about the ammo mix in this game for Sov tanks. T-64/72/80 tanks carried mostly HE. 'Weapons and Tactics' by Isby quotes the loadout as being 12 APFSDS, 6 HEAT, 22 HE.
So is there any tracking in Red Storm of which type of rounds have been fired?
For me that means that any tank-to-tank engagements are going to need ammo re-stocking pretty quick. And I like this game as ammo loads are a vital component.
