I've started a Joint Command game of this scenario; is Turkey playable? Does turkey have aircraft/naval assets?
I'm playing the USSR [:D] we are looking for a USN player and an Israel player [:)]

How come I have to wait 2 hours for any of my attack planes (f18 and a6) to be ready? Russians attacked my EA6b and shot it down initiating hostiies and I still have 1 hour and 35 minutes until I can launch anything!
mikeCK,
Due to limitations on how to trigger the initiation of hostilities, the Soviets may take a shot at your aircraft if it gets too close to their ships. It kind-of ruins the scenario. There's not much I can do about it until the devs make it possible to change postures via an event.
Even if they Soviets do shoot first, you can always just ignore it and wait for the "real" attack. You will know it when you see it.
The 2 hour delay is to prevent the human player from "cheating" and initiating hostilities early. The time required to ready should be a hint as to when the scenario "really" starts. [;)]

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Would checking off collective responsibility in the side menu help? When checked if a contact performs an action that marks it as hostile, and the side it belongs is known, then its entire parent side inherits the new posture
Just some advice from under the bus. If this doesn't solve your issue though let us know and we can probably help figure it out or fix.

Any way to move the soviet attack time up an hour or so...I feel like I shouldn't just fast forward 2 hours until I can do something. Anyway, beggars can't be choosers and I'm looking forward to the fight!

Mike,
Didn't mean to throw you under the bus! [:D]
The scenario begins prior to hostilities commencing at the start of WWIII. I have the Soviets scripted to launch a coordinated attack at a specific time. The best way to do this would be to have an event triggered to change postures from neutral to hostile. However, I found a work-around by setting the Soviets unfriendly to NATO and setting a strike mission to trigger at the right time with an ROE of "engage non-hostiles". The AI will attack NATO and the "collective responsibility" sets all of NATO as hostile (as desired). The only problem is that since NATO is "unfriendly" the Soviets will take potshots at aircraft that it thinks get too close to the ship. This sets the Soviets as hostile prematurely and removes the Soviet's "first salvo" advantage. I would much rather have NATO as neutral so that the Soviets would not take any shots and use the event engine to change the posture.

mikeCK,
In retrospect, two hours is excessive. At this point the scenario is already released in the community pack and I am working on the next installment. (And I'm lazy.)
One of the reasons all the aircraft are grounded for two hours is to reduce the computation load so large time compression can be used.
I also find that watching all those ships closing in builds tension. Don't you? [:)]

Lol...no, not when they are firing missles at all of my CAP planes and S-3s!
But hey brother...it's your scenario! You build it how you want it and that's that. I have had 2 crashes with it but I am determined to just fast forward until the attack because it's set up to be a great fight!

We are on turn 21! I've expended all my long range ASM as the USSR; Israel's navy just came out to fight.
