Luftwaffe added 12 points in air support for the attack on Warsaw.

The attack on Warsaw was a complete success as was the two other attacks in Poland. Due to the surprise the fleet in Danzig was destroyed (scs) or captured (cp) when overrun.

Japan draws a sigh of relief as the attack is a success with minimal margin.

Well that was an unfortunate impulse for the Allies.....

How do they respond? Well first off they declare war on Germany (and suffer a big penalty US Entry wise in so doing [8|]) and then the three powers call out their reserves.

Naval Movement. The CW do a naval and put as many ships to sea as possible to allow flexibility for later in the turn.

The French do a combined and their priority is to get the 5th Infantry Corps back to Metropolitan France.

The Polish aircraft fly to Lithuania, giving the CW 2 precious pilots.

The two French HQ then try and reorganise and I get a mad except [:@]

The weather roll is a 9 = Rain in the North Temperate and Storm in the North Monsoon.

I went back to the HQ Reorg phase in Saved Games and this time it worked without issue. I did it twice to be certain - and same result. Weird. Oh well, fingers crossed for the rest of the game.

Japan send three transporters to China Sea loaded with the land units that were in Japan. Germany rebase the fleet in Memel to Kiel.

No strategic bombing. No ground strikes.

Japan rail a marine corps to Haichow.

Yamamoto (HQI) and a militia debark into Canton.

Axis only make one attack in this lousy weather and that is a automatic attack in Poland.

Germany rebase a couple of fighters westwards from Poland.

No reorganization.

If you had placed the Polish INF in the woods hex on the border between Krakow and Pozen, and moved the 3-3 INF to the woods one hex to east, I think you would have found that the Germans could not have gotten nearly as good an attack on Warsaw as they did, nor could they have gotten as good an attack on Lodz.

Maybe. Fact is the Poles cannot cover everything. Had the Germans not rolled a 9 on Warsaw - they may have survived.

We are to get to the Axis third impulse and they have a roll for Lodz. But wherever I placed my units, that should be the case.

A pretty dull turn for the Allies - the Nationalist Chinese have decided to head for the mountains, while the Communists have gathered around Chengchow.

Imperial Guard rail to Kaifeng.

Japanese marine forces (div) occupy the minor port Pakhoi. German forces struggle in the mud and close in on Lodz.

Japan debark a ART and a ENG in Canton.

1st Engineer division leads the assault on Lodz. The attack is a success but since even a die roll of 1 would have captured Lodz with no German losses I feel that it was a waste to roll a 10 on this attack.

The Allies have a 60% chance of the turn ending if they all pass.... they all pass.....and throw an 8....[8|]

The weather remains grim though on a modified roll of 11.

Italy send the TRS from Tobruk to La Spezia.

No strategic bombing. No ground strikes.

Japan rail a garrison to Taiyuan. Germany rails three units from the East front to the West front.

After some hesitation Japan sends their marine detachment to occupy the Chinese city Nanning. This was obviously a political mistake since USA reacted negatively to this. [:@]

Only Axis attack is a automatic attack against Poznan and thereby remove the last Polish unit from the map.

No aircraft rebase. No reorganization.

And the end of turn roll was a ten so the turn refuse to end. [:D]

With Changsha already down in 39 and the Communists deploying in open terrain, things look pretty grim for China.

Yes. However, the Japanese did set up quite strong against the Nationalists and in the winter it's not going to be easy to kill Mao. If he slowly withdraws towards the mountains, the Chinese can get a front there. The only thing which I don't like is that Nanning apparently wasn't defended...
