My experience is the same.

Have never set training squadrons to zero range and never lose planes from those squadrons.

I believe this is urban legend.

Agreed. Just looked at an older post that was revived and its what Alfred said. Wasn't 100% sure 'til seeing that, although had noticed it some in game.

I have found fatigue climbs into the low 20s if set to 100% training.

Reducing training to 80% results in fatigue from 0-5.

15k isn't fine. Altitude determines which skill gets trained.

This was in direct response to a post that was made wherein the poster asked about training for ground attack, not lowg or strafe. Ground attack training at 15k is fine. Most any altitude from 2k up is fine for ground attack.

Ground Attack training above 1k trains Ground Attack

Ground Attack at 1k trains Low Ground

Ground Attack at 100 feet trains Strafing.

The same is true for Naval Attack training with respect to training NAV, LOWNAV and STRAFE.

When I train 100% at 5k and 0 range the fatigue level tends to be 1 to 3. I still don't see anyone explaining why you should do otherwise.

Sometimes when I've forgotten to put the range to '0' I've noticed fatigue goes to about the low 20's (which has been stated here somewhere), but I've never noticed an op loss. I mean its pretty easy to determine when the air unit hasn't lost any A/C. Does it matter? Just a mouse click. It seems as long as the range is in the normal 'range' (pun intended) its fine.[8D]

I seem to remember being short aircraft and/or pilots in training squadrons without knowing why (in cases where I didn't intentionally short them). But I'm going to keep an eagle eye on my ops reports to see if it happens. I'll be sure to ignore any training done where enemy planes might have been involved (damaging a plane that later crashed).

I've found an example of plane from a 100% training sqd. being damaged on landing. I presume they can therefor crash and the pilots may be killed.

I've seen this too but never seem to have lost a plane or pilot. I usually watch my Ida's closely because I only use them in training units and I haven't lost one yet. I keep them at their normal range. I won't say anything is definitive yet, but I'll keep an eye on them and see what happens.

Just lost my first plane to training. It was a Jake. Although, I must say to be fair I had left it at extended range.[:-] Probably after I moved it.
