At the bottom, would be fine.
Actually, the new logo is not that different from the old:
Many of the criticisms leveled at the new logo could likewise apply to the old. (By chance, a week or two ago I was thinking to myself how old-fashioned and stodgy the previous logo looked.)
Still, adding back the company name would help.

I'm having issues with my monitor so I might be the only one who has trouble seeing that there is a Hexagon behind the Spider/Martian Death Machines. I would suggest that the Hex be outlined to bring it out more.
With the "Matrix Games" added below in white letters, I think this design could be a real winner and a good modern look.

Just saw the logo in a reduced size as a Browser "tab" preview and it suddenly jumped out at me....
This is the Helmet/Mask of Magneto![:)]
Now it all makes sense to me... there is an "X-Men" game in the production pipeline and with the movie and comics tie-ins it will be a huge blockbuster and become the crowning jewel of the Matrix game lineup... ergo... the new Mask of Magneto logo [:)]

The thing is: The Matrix icon as we have known it, has represented stability. The new icon represents change, which does not always represent stability, just saying.

I'm sort of curious why the logo change? Was the old one too dazzling that they needed to switch to something a little more lackluster? [:D]
