7.8.1941 - 13.8.1941

Still no sign of a mud. [:(]

Germans made another few hexes towards Lenin's city.

Moscow approaches seems to be temporally stabilized. Basically 3rd turn in row without retreat.

Small disaster happened again in the south. I usually defend every major city close to the front line. Somehow last turn I left Poltava without garrison and paid the price. Panzers broke through my lines and 2 rivers, captured Poltava and flipped few hexes over the 3rd river. Massive retreat was order of the day. [:(]

interesting looking at the differences in our two games. I've been luckier than you with mud which has helped as it seems as if Dave has not hit the same logistics problem that Vigabrand has. But they are both obviously prioritising Leningrad and not really putting much pressure on at Moscow.

How are you doing for factory evacuations?

Yes, I have really bad luck with mud.
In my game Dave does not prioritize Leningrad. Only standard AGN deployment is pushing towards Lenin's city.
Regarding overall evacuations I was doing fine until T10. Mostly my fault as I evacuated many factories that usually are being left to its fate. We will come to this later [;)]

In the north continues slow but steady German advance on Leningrad.

4th turn in row is not much going on in Moscow area. Quiet before storm?

After the small disaster from previous turn, south is temporarily stabilized. Germans gained only small bridgehead south of Poltava.

I'd be very suspicious he is planning something at Moscow, certainly seems to be building up very methodically

21.8.1941 - 27.8.1941

21 armament points from Tula were evacuated.

Fascists have reached the outskirts of Leningrad.

Dave diverted some fast units from south towards Moscow. My weak defence was no match for the Panzers. Kaluga, still full of industry felt into the German hands.Worse than lost industry is proximity of the spearhead to Moscow with basically no defense. I had too many units defending the empty space between Ilmen and Rzev. Better use of them would have been proper in depth defence in front of Moscow.
Moscow, Tula, Voronezh and Stalino are still full of industry and within the range of Panzers.

In the south I am still able for some time to block Germans around Poltava. Especially when most of the fast units were diverted to the north.

agree, in ours I have taken much heavier losses than in previous games but seem to have fended off the worst damage (for now).

that German thrust at Moscow is nasty but you still hold most of the north bank of the Oka which will make it hard for him to fully exploit?

I will post casualties after the summer campaign(we are at T16 now). Some 40-50 divisions will be wiped out between T11-T16. Informative value of T11 loses is little and I anyway don't have the data.
But OOBwise I am doing good(5M strong RA). Problem is that with new fort rules my army won't dig.
