For some reason CW and France got mad and declared war on Germany. On roll 5 one USE chit was removed.

German intelligence failed again.

Nor was I! Even more so now. I think I fell for the dangled carrot of the unguarded Trans, Amph's and CP's. As is often the case, I had one too few units to make the defence I wanted work, although at the time I simply didn't spot the hole I left that allowed the good odds assault on Lodz. I'd also forgotten Konigsberg Mil is a reserve unit so it would have needed a miraculous missed air strike plus a good roll for that to come off.

On the up-side, units that would be involved in the attack are now guarding the port and it took one of his air assets. There might yet be a bit of a sting left in the tail.

After a bit of a Horlicks of an opening, let's see if anything can be done to make some amends.

France Naval, China Land, the rest take Combined.

The CW put a CVL, BB and 2 CA in Biscay 0-box. The Polish Navy makes a run for it. Does the Me-110 in the North Sea wish to go a'hunting?

It shall be quite interesting to see USA spamming a few factories early in the game then.

Yes please, intercept in North Sea everything possible. And if possible, bring Nav to 2 box too.

On a 7, the interception fails. Not that is matters as the Polish Navy is out of MP's and has to stay put in the 0-box.

The French ship in Inf back from Syria to Marseille. 2 CL's sail to Algiers. The bulk of the fleet sails to the East Med 2-box. Subs go to the Italian coast 4-box and West Med 2-box. 4 cruisers make a run for the Baltic.

The move is detected by the Me-110's (2 rolled). The German Nav scrambles to intercept. Spitfires also scramble to give cover to the Allied shipping.

The Allies are still having trouble with learning how to use binoculars (7 rolled) so the Axis have 8 surprise points to spend. Naval air combat is selected. Does the Me-110 wish to be a fighter or bomber?

Since only the French CL's are involved, I'll go with bomber.

For the French, the results aren't pretty.

Wow! That is what I call "interception".

Both sides elect to stay and fight but searches of 9 and 8 end proceedings. The damaged and aborted cruisers about face and head back to Brest. A lone CL arrives in the Baltic 4-box.

Nimitz and a P-40 ship to Pearl. Another empty Trans ends at sea near Pearl.

The French try and initiate in the Baltic but a pathetic 9 and 10 ensure nothing occurs.

Then, it's back to the North Sea for the German go against the CW. On a 7 Axis and 4 Allied, no combat.

As much for propaganda value as in real expectation of results, the RAF sends Hampdens to bomb Berlin. Harrows go to Essen and the French chip in with a raid on Prague.

The Harrows put two right in the pickle barrels.

The Berlin raid is pretty successful.

The French get some revenge for the naval defeat.

These strategic bombing results are just like from our first AAR. So this is how it feels, not funny...
