with one of there commander now taken out, i call a halt to any more forward movements while i rally my men and change orders and prepare to hold and reform my lines

12pm and i call it a day for this battle and will continue it another day



i reform my lines, but that plan will be for another day...

well have some others to do and also some more holidays to fit in as well, so was hoping to finish it before i go away unless Gil keeps adding more for me to play with[:D][;)]

part 2

all units are now placed into rally mode to recover and rest before i again counter attack the US attackers in front and around approaching the fort, with both flanks covered i feel quite safe atm

with units in rally mode i'll reposition over the next few turns to get better ground and alter a few units and rest and replace others

as the smoke starts to effect the sight of my fort guns, there range and view drops, but this is the least of my worries

look what my scouts have found approaching from the right flank

with Jeb Stuarts cav brigade on the right flank, they will delay what's coming as i withdraw them back to the fort from one redoubt to another, the time it gives me will be enough hopefully to rally and full rest my men, before i have to withdraw back to the town and it's defences, time is what i'm after now, enough of it.

with all units in rally mode except Jeb's brigade, action quieten down a lot atm

as the US / AI moves again on the fort and right flank, the left is very quite so i send out scouts there and check for any surprises just in case

right flank gets probed but does little real damage but does delay them cross a while longer, as soon as they attack i'll drop back and defend the next redoubt so will play cat and mouse for a while and delay this flank and approach

small scale action at the fort and still getting probed on the right flank

action is still small scale probes as the US brings up more reinforcements, the right goes quite as they still don't attack the redoubt in numbers, and my own reinforcement make there way onto the battlefield so my army size and strength grows

and still no attack, so what is building up elsewhere i wonder as i send my scouts out to check but finding nothing new

the probes seem to be getting stronger but not yes at attack strength, i leave the right flank units where they are for now as i keep moving my reinforcement closer to the fort

now i reform my lines and will rest and rally for one more turn, before im all in place for a counter attack at the fort while i withdraw my right flank

while the AI builds up it's force in front of me at the fort, i reinforce from behind also, so atm feel prepared for what ever happens

seems to be one hex advance at a time for the US, so guess they are building up for a full blown assault and not a attack, seems they want the fort badly as they keep reinforcing

there slow line advances while mine retreats for better ground and more time, and i move out of the redoubt and pull back on the right flank for now and reposition to the next redoubt and hold there until they again approach

still slow going, but that play with me fine as it buys me more time

scout report nothing on the right flank, so got away cleanly it seems and have time now to set up and defend the next redoubt my other units have just moved out of
