Maybe one useful addition: I was not able to update Command to 1.09. Though I tried and all seemed to work, the version remained at 1.08 final. The updater installed 1.091 over this version as it looks like.

Anyone? Any clue what went wrong?

Suggest uninstall and apply the 1.09 install/patch again. See if that is okay (shows 1.09), and then try applying 1.902 on it.

While the cumulative update 1.09 worked, 1.091 creates a massive problem for me: neither the main game nor the NI expansion do run any more. The error message says that a Steamwork.net file wasn´t found, but I don´t use the sim with Staem. Any clue? Shall I upload the message file´?
See if there is a file called 'force_steam'. If there is and your not using steam, delete it. Steamworks.net.dll should have been installed from the base 1.09 install/patch.

I'd like to add I'm having very similar licensing issues as well with the non-Steam version (full download version). I updated my original installation to 1.09 after a long hiatus from CMANO, and then applied patches to get me to 1.092. CMANO is now reporting I am unlicensed. I have even tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times with a fresh download of the setup exe linked in an earlier post and its still giving me issues.
Interestingly enough, I installed on my laptop to test and that machine seems to be working fine. My main desktop rig is not running any type of blocking software that would prohibit the installer from doing what it needs to, and I am running as an admin. The only difference between the two installs is I am installing on a secondary SSD in my desktop rig (my D: drive).
Help always appreciated!

thx for Your answer. It is really crazy: The standalone version NI does run now and is on 1.09 final V 757,2. But the updater doesn´t work any longer, update.exe isn´t found. The basic game which I bought back in 2013 and always updated, still doesn´t run and I get that error message connected to Steam.
I´ll now try what You suggested.

Haven´t found a file called forced_steam in any of the two installations. Interesting is that the basic game could be updated to 1.0902 bot still doesn´t run. This is really weired.
Looks like I really have to deinstall it.
Maybe it all came from updating my PC to Windows 10.

What a mess: I deinstalled both versions in my Windows 10 system, but the shortcuts are still there and many files, too. I´m now deleting all files and doing a clean install. Wish me luck.

Ok, in order to gain precise information I do install version after version:
1.00 done, runs perfectly.
1.02 done, no problems
1.03 done, no issues
1.04 done, everything is running fine
1.08 done, Wargame of the Year Edition, runs perfectly
After this version, issues started in the past. I´m not sure, though, which of the following steps caused the problems:
1. The parallel installation of Northern Inferno ?
2. The Update to 1.09?
3. The system update to Windows 10?
Current status is that it 1.08 is running perfectly under Windows 10 and NI is not yet installed.
Now my question to the pros and devs: Which step to make next in order to grab the problem? Shall I first update to 1.09 or shall I install NI?
Thanks in Advance!

Install NI into the same directory. You'll be asked to punch in serials for both.
If you get past that and the game still has issues let us know.

Ok. The first time I installed NI I put it in a separate directory. Ready to install now, the serial code of the main game is already in, obviously detected by NI.

Ok, here we are: Installation worked. I now have a second shortcut symbol on my desktop, NI´s.
If I start NI, I have the whole game including all scenarios and I´m now on 1.09 final, 757,2. That´s really fine.
I dare not to start the main game without further suggestions, IIRC after that I got the problems for the first time, both installations got mixed.
Mike, what do You suggest as my next step:
- trying to run the game using the main game´s desktop shortcut?
- trying the updater in NI or
- trying the main game´s updater or
- updating using the downloaded version of 1.091 then 1.092 or B757.12 ?

Run from the NI shortcut that works. Delete the other one.
You should probably be sure to be updated with the latest and greatest as well
tm.asp?m=3978813
Same procedure. Install to the correct directory.
In the future you may want to consider converting over to steam which autoupdates for you.

Thanks for Your fast response. Is it difficult to convert from my non-steam versions over to steam? I´m not used to steam, but will try to do so.

Hi there,
After having encountered some PC issues, which were fixed, I re installed CMANO + the latest update.
To my surprise, the game does not start and I get the attached message log.
Can somebody help please?

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your help!
I ran all the exe files you suggested but no dice...
I really don't know what to do.

Hi again Mike,
After trying to re install CMANO 4 times, still nothing. Until I know what the issue is, I think I'll stay at the 1.08 version which runs perfectly, although I'd really much like to see what the latest version is like.
Also, is it normal that the new Northern Inferno scenarios are displayed in the list but not playable? Is there anything I have to do to unlock them?
thanks
Pierre

Hi everyone and Happy New Year from the UK!
I am a new user and having got past initial direct X x86 instal issues everything seemed to be going well.
Having run 2 of the training scenarios though I can now no longer load any scenario other than the auto saves of the last mission I completed. The scenarios seem to start loading but the map just remains unchanged.
I am running Win 7 32 bit on an AMD64 with 4GB RAM And using the non-steam instal.
UPDATE - turned out to be a hard disk issue (it was only 12 years old)!
Cloned original 300GB drive onto a Seagate 2TB SSHD hybrid and the PC has a new lease of life.
Command now running perfectly. I would have deleted my question but could only see how to edit it, apologies.
