I know we are in Beta and not concerned with modding, but I can't help myself. If anyone that knows has a minute, can you tell me what countries each of the 'Major_01 thru 08' represent ? I already figured out thru trial and error that 07 is Germany, and would rather not spend all the time to figure out the rest if someone can easily tell me. [&o]

Can someone from game side (Matrix/Fury/Slitherine) create a known bug thread. I feel there is going to be a lot of duplicated efforts otherwise.

What do the numbers represent ? 12[13], 2[5], etc.

The numbers on the left are the unit's base stats. The numbers on the right in brackets show "the new base stats" if you will with the upgrade the unit has received.

Ah, thank you very much. It's a bit confusing, as in the USA the first number [not in brackets] would indicate the current condition, the second number [the one in brackets] would indicate a 'possible' or 'what if'. A mouse-over or a mention in the manual [unless I missed it] might be nice.

Attached is a one page document that gives a short explanation of what each of the Research Categories does. Print it out and give it to your wife or daughter to memorize, then while you are playing you can hollar down the hall 'What is Command and Control for ?'.
Edit: If you download[ed] this you might want to amend these entries:
Aerial Warfare - Unit Morale of air units. Level 1 gains Fighters 2 Intercepts and Strategic Bombers 2 strikes.
Infantry Weapons - Soft, Hard, Artillery, Strat. Artillery, Rocket, Light Armor and Tank Attack and Defense values for Infantry and Cavalry units.

Those folders handle the 8 different MAJOR graphics that are used in game, i.e. so we can organize and have unique graphics for each MAJOR. Currently we only use 7 of the 8 folders but to get a better idea on how they are used in game I would suggest opening up the Editor and then opening up the default campaign that comes with the game.
After that go to Campaign->Edit Major Country IDs Data and you'll see how we assign each of those folders to a MAJOR country on the right hand side of that particular screen under 'Set Display Source'

Ok great, I see then that 'Major 6' is currently unused. I've been poking around in the editor in order to make some minor graphics changes.

But but ... the UK has no carriers in the Mediterranean ! [The computer stuck his neck out with two of them three turns ago and the Italian Navy squashed both of them]. Is it possible to make having a carrier in the Med. a requirement ? If not then no biggie, it's a minor point.

Unfortunately we can't have it as a requirement as the scripts don't recognise the presence of specific unit types.

I knew your majic would end somewhere ! lol. Fair enough though, and its a fair penalty to pay for taking two carriers from the computer.

I have not checked but is Malta in Allied contol a condition to this event? Given that the Italian fleet in Taranto was spotted by air reconnaissance from Malta and some Fairy Swordfish historically operated from the island it would be a good condition/alignment condition for the script to fire. It will also make sense that the attack could have possibly happened (in SC3 anyways) without the allied fleet nearby in the game. As well it would give the Italians a way to use Taranto for a first time without being raided if they conqueror Malta which adds a bit more what If variety to the game.

I've just checked and the script requires for Malta to be in Allied hands, and also for it to have an Allied unit there. Good to see this is still therefore historically plausible given the Carrier sinkings! [:)]

Now that I have recently started participating in the U-Boat war, I am discovering new areas of the map. I've found a U-Boat base way down south [&o]

I'm so glad you mentioned this, as I've just realised that we have an advice to Germany mentioning that Vigo can be used, but I'd missed off mentioning Santa Cruz. Thanks. [:)]

St. Nazaire got blowed up by some UK commandos some time ago and I noticed it is still at '1' as a port. I was just wondering if it ever repairs itself or is it done for good ?

I recall that it stays at level one in previous SC games. What I'm not sure is if it will start gaining strength after several turns.

#NAME= DE 113 - UK: Prepare Operation Chariot: The Raid Against St Nazaire? (AI - 75% Yes)
#POPUP= Combined Operations Headquarters Admiral of the Fleet Sir Roger Keyes The Germans are enhancing their naval base at St Nazaire for use by U-Boats and possibly surface vessels too. We could attempt to seriously damage this naval base in a bold strike by packing HMS Campbeltown full of explosives and sending it to St Nazaire. At St Nazaire it will attempt to explode while wedged in the dock gates, hopefully destroying the port facilities.
At the same time as HMS Campbeltown attacks St Nazaire, commandos will land to disrupt the enemy's defences.
If successful, this operation could prevent the Germans from using St Nazaire for some time to come, possibly permanently. Would you like to prepare HMS Campbeltown for a raid against St Nazaire for a cost of 20 MPPs?
#NOTES= If you say (YES) then on the 28th March 1942 the raid on St Nazaire will take place.
This will have a 50% chance of permanently knocking out the port, otherwise the damage inflicted will just be temporary.
