The Old Man's Bedroom. Apologize for the poor quality photo. My iPhone battery is flat and had to use the cheap Canon. Need to invest in more ex stuff.

Forgive me for doing this, but since the subject arose it could also be noted that WC drank 18 hours a day or more. Eisenhower also put down his share and in fact such practices were not unusual. Truman would put down some hard stuff, but usually to lull into complacency some poker opponents who couldn't hold their liquor. I don't think FDR was a big consumer.

An old story:
Mr Churchill was indeed a drinker, and on one dinner occasion was asked to sit next to the Lady Astor, (a very opinionated old bat of the first order).
After listening to Mr Churchill for a bit...The Lady Astor turned to him and said "You sir, are drunk"!.
Without missing a beat, Sir Winston reportedly agreed with her assessment saying "Indeed I am drunk, madam, and you are ugly...but in the morning...I will be sober, and you will still be ugly"!

I've been talking about it for years, but one of these days I want to make the arduous trip to Peleliu and maybe some of the other Pacific islands. I'll be sure to take and post pictures when I do.
