Use Edit Hex Layer and than [File] Export Map Positions. Open the new file and copy 'n paste into the script
Arghh! My 'Export Map Positions' is always ghosted out no matter what buttons I have selected [:(]

Hi Steve
You need to select some hexes first, using the land layer, then it should work. [:)]

[&o] I'd have never figured that out on my own !
First baby-step done ! When France fell and Vichy was established, FEA switched from France owned to Free France owned, with its' capitol at Brazzaville, YAY ! [I made this happen right away because historically most of FEA was FF by August 1940, so I saw no reason to make it Vichy and then switch it a few turns later. There isn't a way to set an event delay anyway, is there?]
Ok, now on to the harder stuff that probably won't work [;)]

What kind of delay do you mean, Steve? The DE and the TE have a "#Date" command line, which can be used to delay the triggering of a (territory) event. But a previous takeover by Vichy you must of course scripted before. [&:]

Hard Example - Vichy is created July 1, 1940. FEA goes Free French August 1, 1940. Those events can be hard coded by date.
Delay Example - Vichy is created, and FEA goes Free France 3 turns later. A delay of 3 turns cannot be done, as far as I see so far. This delay would be necessary to make the event bulletproof, in case the player doesn't capture France by July 1 [;)]

If you really want a 3 turn delay you need to alternate dummy scripts (like a domino effect) which fires back and forth on alternating turns. So likely 6 dummy scripts would be required. Only the final script would need to check if conditions are satisfied. In case it's not clear the dummy events will have to be decision events each dependant on the previous and no pop up selected.

[X(] Well, I'll get back to you on that. For now I figure that its a little matter that doesn't affect anything. If I can get everything else working, then I can come back to this. Thanks very much for the solution !

Why are you clinging so much to the historical date? In such a game the history can only pretend the framework. In fact, the events must remain highly flexible. Each player can have his own schedule! What happens then? And the Free French would fight out of exile even without a Vichy, or not? Only as work hypothesis:
Either you do it as Crispy has suggested. ([X(] Did not really understand anything but it is probably totally logical...[8|]) Or you say the lowest common denominator for the proclamation of the FF is the German DE to the establishment of Vichy. So: A dummy event for the founding of the FF links itself with the German (yes) and fires immediately. Another executed with the (no) plus the capitulation of France. Then you can still hook the British DE to the recognition of the FF and decorate it a little. And finally, you'll spend the FF units a free-unit script. Otherwise, the axis ends up unsuitably in Brazzaville and all units are gone immediately. That would be quite gamey but also somehow unfortunate and unrealistic. I would actually transfer them to the British, because the Americans could be kept out of the war for a long time by diplomacy.

I didn't think I was clinging to historical date, because I made it so that FEA goes Free French the turn after Vichy is formed. I was only saying that historically it didn't happen right away, there was a 3-4 week delay, so I would have liked to make FF form on a 3-4 turn delay from Vichy.
It does not matter to me if the USA does not enter for a while, because the FF units did not have a strategic impact until after Africa. But more importantly, I need to get these events to fire Paris off the map first, then I can iron out the littler details [:)]
So far I got Paris the capitol to leave, but France still showed up as a major in the purchase screen. So I'm trying different variations of stuff and will get back to you with results [once I have given up!].
Thanks for your patience guys, I know I am an idiot trying to do this as a rookie.

DOH !! So close !
France fell, Free France was created at Brazzaville, Paris was liberated by the UK unit, France was transferred to Free France via Territory ... and voila! Paris is no longer a Capitol, it is a Free French city ! And inset Purchase screen shows Free France as a USA Minor ! All good.
But ... also in the inset, France is somehow still a Major [circled red]. Oh well.

France will always be a major if they start out as such in the scenario.

Right but that's not what I meant, I should have worded it more better [:(]
France still has a slot in the Purchase screen and an OOB there from 1940, which is what I'm trying to get rid of. When France surrenders initially, they are taken out of the Purchase loop. So I had tried having France 'surrender' to Free France after France is liberated but that didn't work. I have to keep working to see if I can stumble on a proper combination of things.

I played a few more turns of the above test, and 'France' is not getting any MPP's. So at the moment, if the only thing that is out of place is that France is displayed in the Purchase screen, I might can live with that. I think I'll start a real game and see what happens [;)]

Real Game is working out ok, just a few minor glitches to correct. However, after Overlord I notice that Allied supply is low in France [not a totally bad thing as they did experience supply problems historically]. But looking at what I've got, I realize that with Free France controlling French territory, it is a Minor and thus all of its' resources are at 5. That's actually not bad either, if I could get Marseille and Antwerp to go up to 10 or 12 we would be in high cotton! But looking at scripts it doesn't seem possible to finagle this. Any solutions or ideas ?

Possibly the only way is to have Free France as a Major.
There might be an alternative but I'm doubtful that it would work: choose somewhere in France that you set as a Primary Supply Center, then have it transfer via a TERRITORY script to the UK or USA on liberation.

Free France as a Major I am trying to stay away from, but if that ends up being the better way, I will do it.
Primary Supply that transfers thru Territory ... hmmm ...
Thanks Bill [&o]
P.S. I have a Canadian friend that does not understand that here in the States 'hmmm' means that we are 'thinking'. Just thought I would clarify that [;)]

Wow, this one is kicking my butt. Obviously something to do with changing some of the scripts to reflect Free France instead of France, but I've been over and over it and cannot find any Minor Country ID that has an MPP Up/Down of anything other than 0. Is there any way to tell which line is Line 2249 ?
Edit: I took out the Country ID references to Free France [reverted them to France] and the error cleared. Thing I don't get is that none of them had an Up/Down of anything other than 0.

Open script in Windows Editor. In the menue bar please uncheck "Format/Line Break" and then check "View/Status Bar". After that the Editor should show row and column of the curser posisition in the lower right of the window. Navigate down the script and find the error line...[;)]
