Turkey has joined the Axis forces in an attempt to drive into the Caucasus.

I was surprised to find the extent of the Russian deployment in this area. The Russians are actually on the offensive against the Turks while the Afrika Korps ponders how it will take Baku...

The US continues its build up of AVLs and new CVs and BBs (on top of those transferred from the Pacific fleet which have been destroyed) and so my advanced naval forces have a new fight on their hands! [X(]

Fast forward to December 31,1943.

There has been much progress on the Eastern front with the capture of Riga in the North and pressure on Tallinn, Smolensk and Vyamza in the Centre, and a solid drive towards capturing Kiev and an incursion into the Crimea.

My naval forces in the West are deployed to intercept US AVLs.

The situation in the Caucasus has improved with a successful advance towards Baku, but the Turks are still having some trouble keeping the Russians at bay.

My U-boat wolfpack (3 units) off the US East coast has just intercepted and sunk two more US AVLs! [:D]

I believe I may have reached the tipping point in terms of being on the road to defeating Russia:

Ok, so I haven't updated this for awhile (sorry about that...) since I have fallen behind in accumulating screenshots (I actually lost some of the files I had saved...), so I will just jump ahead to where I am at the moment, which is the Axis turn for August 2, 1945.

As I alluded to in my last post, the tide had turned against the Russians in the East and so it has just been a serious of non-stop victories (including the capture of Moscow, a major push up into the Caucasus, and Stalingrad about to fall.

I keep intercepting US AVs and AVLs headed for England, so the AI is not too creative in this respect...and I believe Russia is about to fold very soon, probably right after Stalingrad is taken this turn.
