Hmm, top three computer games of all time... Played a lot of Steel Panthers in 1990 too, as a first love. But as a whole, probably something like

[*] Campaign Series (From Talonsoft West Front 1998, to date [:'(] )
[*] Rome: Total War (RTW came out in 2004, but what I continue to be totally blown away is the Roma Surrectum mod [&o] )
[*] TOAW (Talonsoft original, then forgot about it, then back with TOAW III, now eagerly awaiting for IV )

This is asking for a pretty impossible feat of memory, but on the grounds that no modern games will qualify because I have so many to chop and change between, then the games have to come from the earlier days of computing games when a new genre hit the market and for a long time there was no real competitor. So...

Elite (1984 - played on a BBC micro)
Civ 1
X-COM Enemy Unknown

Elite - the ultimate computer game of all times! CBM 64 guy myself.

Dead Space. My very first video game. It took me 80 hours to finish it. I keep going back to it when I need to take out my frustrations on something.

Dead Space 2. See above.

Hearts of Iron III. Loved the game but hated the supply system. Still feel bad that I abandoned my Panzers somewhere around China.

Crusader Kings II
JT Campaign Series (both solo and vs. friends)
Medieval II: Total War + Mods (I think that I actually played 2-3 times without mods, in the hundreds of hours of enjoyment this game gave to me).

A special mention goes to TOAW: I was never able to totally enjoy it due to the "turn burn" rule (exp. in big scenarios). I always hoped for a "simple" mode where you moved, fought and then proceeded to move and fight with other units - like in classic wargames. For this reason I'm really looking forward to TOAW IV.

Wish I had 3 that I play but I go back and play the same game over and over. Since there are so many MODs on this forum and it plays the closest to ASL I can find on a PC.

1) Lock'N Load Heroes of Stalingrad -Heroes of Stalingrad

i think really it was in my teens and early 20s i got to spend the most time on games - and they would be

M1 Tank Platoon 2
Operation Flashpoint
Rise of Nations

- of course i have spent alot of time wiht more strategy games since then but if it comes down to most amount of time spent then these would have to take the prize

regarding a list from me, it would be hard as i'e tested games up to 1000 hours+ but played them, well that's a hard one, but it would be an older one, not anything new, maybe Dungeon Master or betrayal at krondor, or even maybe Stone Keep?

not sure really
