If this helps...
Windows 7 updated to most recent patch
Webroot Security
MalwareBytes
It is conceivable that your AV is causing these problems. During the download/install process, also try temporarily shutting down your AV.

But be sure to try the other suggestions.

Yeah, I'm kind of thinking the same because it is weird that two machines are having the same issue.

Another possibility: Your downloaded installer might be corrupted. Retry the download.

Berto, thanks for your help but I have uninstalled and installed on two machines three times each, I don't think that is the issue! [8|]
Not just uninstall/reinstall in the same default location. Have your latest installs been to C:\Games ?

Have you (after setting aside your current installer EXE) tried redoing the download from Matrix? It is possible I suppose that you have a corrupted installer.

I have been through this process several times before. Sometimes customers have the strangest of issues. It could be almost anything. (For one customer, it was a bad hard disc.) We keep looking until we find the cause!

OK, this is my last attempt as I just don't have unlimited time.

Also when uninstalling I get this message every time. Possibly part of the problem?

Most likely a corrupt install...

If you re-install it, dump it not into the C:\Program Files (x86)\... If you got a 2nd partition, e.g. D drive, just install it under D:\Campaign Series Middle East. I always try to keep the OS partition free of game programs at all costs.

Yes, possibly part of the problem. Installing into the Admin-restricted C:\Program Files (x86), together with AV -- these can cause the strangest of problems.

If you are blocked doing the uninstall, click the Ignore button for any problematic files. The rest of the uninstall should proceed normally (I think). Then install into C:\Games. If you have another hard drive, installing into D:\Games (or whatever) is a good suggestion also. You have downloaded anew the Matrix installer, yes?

OK, downloaded and reinstalled without the AV or Malware running. Loaded to C:Games and it still locks up.

I'm done and will try it again a few patches from now. I suspect whatever it is will be cleared up at a future date. Thanks.

Thanks for your patience, BD. Sorry it didn't work out for you. Better luck next time?

So in uninstalling the game, again, these two errors popped up. I'll bet they have each time but I missed them. See this and next post...

Uninstall error two (looks like the same error but popped up twice?)...

Oh man, there's definitively something fishy going on with your install. Strangest thing is that it happens with two separate computers of yours... Makes no sense at all, I've never seen anything like that, apart from the fact that a hung-up scenario selection screen means a corrupt .SCN file, typically.

I was going to ask you to zip up your entire install and if possible, share it via a Dropbox or Google drive, but I was late to the party I believe.

Would be great to get an idea what's going on. If there's a bug, we need to understand it to fix it. But a missing file seems to indicate something else going on...

That is definitely a sign of a borked install. That file should certainly exist:

rober@Rob10rto /cygdrive/c/Games/Matrix Games/Middle East/Campaign Series Middle East 2.0
$ ls -l graphics/map/3D/MajorRiverEdges0d.bmp
-rwxrwx---+ 1 rober rober 2461590 Sep 7 19:28 graphics/map/3D/MajorRiverEdges0d.bmp

For sure the game launch will abort if essential graphics files are somehow missing.

I dunno for certain, but it seems that your install process(es) are failing somehow.

Again, this would be most helpful:

Other than that, we can try going into a deep debug of the issues. But having full [emphasis added] and successfully zip'ed log files (they will be huge) will be essential.

Maybe the most helpful thing to try above all. We have helped several people in the past who were able to give us a look-see at their entire install first-hand.

What does that mean? Where do I find it?

I meant that once you had install the game to say C:/Games, zip the entire /Campaign Series Middle East thing, and share that via Dropbox etc

Then, Berto and I can download it, unzip at our end, and check out all things there, included or missing.

OK I don't have DropBox but I have a Google Drive. Send me an E-mail and I will TRY! I have had trouble zipping the log files already. I have Jason's E-mail and if I can get it all to zip will share with him.

That would be fine. Jason can share us the download link.

OK, now we're having some success! It zipped and I am uploading to Google Drive. This may take some time. Jason should have my E-mail and he can share it with you guys. So let's take this to E-mail from here?
