"Who is it?"
"Rangers, Buzzard sir."
Buzzards' reply, "F@ck an A, and sh!t, and cr@p and F#ck again"
What a wonderful round folks. There in nothing so beautiful as Rangers in action, they always seem to pull my *** out of the fire.

Senario

A beautiful hill that has been battled over for the last half an hour. The Germans take the hill early and the Americans storm it disasterously. The Germans follow the Americans as they retreat to receive a devistating counter attack. Both contestants retreat back to there corners, the Germans back to the hill the Americans back to the desert behind a wall of smoke. A few minutes go by as both armys recoup and make plans. The Germans send out probes only to have them shot up and the Americans send out probes only to have them shot up. More plans are made.
The Americans act first, moving units to mass for an attack, time is getting short and the Germans hold all the hills. The artillary lands along the small northern hill, explosions all along the top of it as 60mm and 105mm rain down, the Rangers run and find massive amounts of T-38s, FJ, Engineers, halftracks, and an HQ, all buttoned, retreating, and routed. A wonderful thing that is. 5 tanks, 2 halftracks, and a platoon of infantry latter. The Americans concentrate on the HQ. Destroy the halftrack he is in with the last of the precious M15's (horded just for such a purpose), then trys to finish the German commander off. Unluckly unable to. So what to do, Call Artillary, that is right folks the 105's finish him off. Bad things start to happen now.:D

Oh and yes the only good AA that is German is Flakiver, works wonders, have to be careful with it though, until latter all your trucks have 0 armor and they can get shot up pretty easy. It is to bad they did not put it on a halftrack chassis.

:( :( :( :( :( :(

You sunk my battleship!!

You go in the North and I go in the south. What a lot of 50cal and ATGs. I kill 3 and serious wound the forth. I lost count of the 50cal. I saved your Wolverine for next turn. And the M15 is still there as well.

You did much better.
Carry on.

slowly. There were a few Sig's and Stug's in the way. They were dealt with appropriatly. But I ran an M10 into a Pak40 ATG. Bad move on my part. It has been a very good game. And it will be interesting to see how it ends. B still has a lot of units, and there are Pak40's between them and me. He also has a couple platoons of Flakiver. :( Which are chewing up my 50 cals and 3 inch anti tank guns. I bet that he will buy flakiver from now on at the beginning. :)

The Rangers continue to confound me.

Your 50 cal's rack up 3 HTs . At this rate I'll be walking home. I could move without something splashing 251 guts all over the place. I got the ones that I found but there are likely more.

You're right about those Flak units. I knew they were good but I thought that the 37mmAT would hide a little better and hit a little more acurately. Didn't work.

I'm close to your Vhexes but you have the North hill. Sent a few rockets this time. I hope they HURT. I have the south ridgeline but your arty has been too accurate. I couldn't get to it to kill that M10, I gotta do something about that.:( :) :(

Its turning out to be quite a game. It could go either way still, but its now leaning your way. How many turns left?

It must be getting hard to rally your troops.

Nice rocket barage by the way. Grr. I hate rockets.
Well chalk up another Stug for the good guys. Also got another half track and a Flakiver. I am more happy about the Flakiver than the Stug, though it was already immobilized. Well back to you. Spent most of the turn rallying my men. Grr. I hate rockets.
:D

It was getting hard to ralley my troops..

until I sent a volley of rockets into a patch of smoke in your backfield. Now its much better:) You keep moving the barrage too so that helps.

I claim another stars and stripes VHex for the the Swastika and surround the group with smoke. No more of those 3inAT from long range for you:) :) :) :) :) :) .. That makes me happy. I got the wounded one in the dunes. Although he scared the crap outa me I didn't know he was there. One hit and he had 5 casualties so he must have been hit before. YYou still have more in the North but I haven't been able to see anything up there for a while.

I think you are on the move again but there is no tell-tale bombardment. They must be switching targets. OH-OH:eek: Time to move.
DISPLACE :(

Opportunity fires. That saved your bacon. The fat lady has not yet sung. (and if she does, I'll sink my talons in her buxom bussum and .... I don't like opera)

All those 105HTs have interlocking fire. It was hard to isolate one or two and then try to close assault but.... I am down to my last couple of HTs. I am hoping you are out of them as well. We'll be swinging pickaxes soon. No Bazookas and I have no panzerwurfine. It could be tough sledding if either of us rallies a tank or two.

I think that there is only one turn left for me. Do you kamikazee??

Not much left on my side either. What I could rally I used but not much moved. One Flak unit, one StuG, one StuH, one of this, one of that. Still I made it to the Vhexes. It depends on Rally factor. I sent some more rockets but I doubt that they did much except scare the fish.

Well, Count Bean. This is it. Its been fun.

C'est tres bien. C'est fini. Bonne Nuit!

Z-Buzzard had pecked my carcas dry. Final score
Buzzard-Germany-10,785
Me--------USA----9,359

Was a very close game and a very good one, we both sea sawed back and forth on who was winning. Buzzard is very good at using all of his units to the most and supprising you with some things you would not expect.
Good Game Larry.
Play me next time when I am not in the middle of tax season and can put my full potential in the game.:p

It could have gone either way

If the 5 vHexes in the middle had been in your hands the outcome would have been different. That's the 1000points that separate us.

I didn't realize that it was so close. Good battle. we'll have to do it again some time. Next time on my terms with aircraft and long shots.:p
