We continue the process of up arming. We do more road building. We support our comrades.

France now has over 50% conversion to semi-automatic weapons. This is quite a feat for a nation without abundant resources.

Germany continues to build up her forces for mechanized warfare.

July 25th, 1938 : Great Britain

Things are quiet in Europe. We were sloppy in the handover of Canadian resources and had to redo the ownership. Engineers continue to do some road building. We sent advisors to China.

July 25th, 1938 : United States

More sweltering weather, nothing happening. Even road building is paused.

Withdrawal in the south, fighting in the north.

August 22, 1938 : Soviet Union

Sad news from the west, the Nationalists have won in Spain. The Republicans held them off quite awhile.

Engineers have almost completed the ring road around Moscow.

Our industry has started to use 3479 units of fuel. We shall have to watch this.

We are starting to hear rumors that the Germans are thinking of attacking us. We have read Mein Kampf and know there is no love lost between us, but we have no idea of the accuracy of the rumors, nor of the time frame.

We are running low on supplies. Everything costs so much, and takes so long. The British have helped us, and there is no question we are better off than we were in January.

Our industry used 4973 fuel in production tasks. We will have to watch this number. Engineers pushed a road to London.

We are trying to raise our production but the progress is not linear. The last three times we invested in the economy resulted in no gains. We believe the extra production is being Siphoned off to civilian use.

We also cannot use, or store the vast amount of supplies the Commonwealth produces.

Really very little to do in this time of piece. US manufacturers thought they might get a boost from rebuilding the tiny army, but none seem forthcoming.

The road building around Moscow is nearly done. This is not a close in road, but a wide circle well away from the city. It should have military uses, and later as the city expands, civilian one.

Aid to China, but no longer to Spain, alas.

France continues to rearm the infantry.

Denmark and Norway have joined in an alliance with Great Britain. Both nations have merged operational control with British forces.

September 19, 1938 : United States

We build an annex in San Francisco. Engineers improve the road network.

We are faced with slow progress in the north, where a powerful enemy and rough terrain make for slow progress.

October 17, 1938 : Soviet Union

The Soviet Union is trying a variety of ways to improve her military. Almost all upgrades of infantry weapons have been completed.

We are nervous about Germany. In the long run we can beat her, but we must lessen the effect of the first strike.

October 17, 1938 : France

Like the Soviet Union, France is preparing for a possible attack by the Germans and Italians. She also is rearming infantry with semi-automatic weapons.

We are far from certain that the Axis will attack us directly.
