Just so you don't think I'm ignoring an earlier post, I have no control of the file size upload limitation. Admins only have the power, I've tried to get it increased to no avail, please be happy with what we have, it's better than nothing. The pictures you've uploaded so far are great, I'm still kicking myself for not being able to make it.

Actually, considering that everything we have here is free, courtesy of Matrix, and in support of software that they also give away for free, I doubt if any of us have any complaints.

And for future reference, posting pics (or other files) on a site such as www.iupload.net and then linking to them from here, gets around most of the limitations. I think in the future, when I have more pics to post, I might upload both a thumbnail (for direct display here) and a link to the full-sized picture for those who want to see it. Doing that would help the forums load faster, let folks get an idea of what the big picture shows, and make everyone happy. Now, if only we could get Jess to do that with his banners...

LOL! I was "this close" to climbing on board, but I could hear the sirens going off in my mind as the loudspeakers blared, "ATTENTION, ATTENTION, a tank has been mounted!"

Good thing no Shermans were there, or we would have all had to wrestle Jess to the ground!

That PzIII looks neat. Must've been a "survivor", look at all the added front armor.... BIG mantlet...smoke launchers...bet there were schürzen on it at one time, too. One of those who didn't get sent back to the shop for conversion jobs, or got captured before they got the chance.

This one is a really nice pair of Panther G's that I'd love to have flanking my driveway. Maybe make one my mailbox and dare the guys driving the snowplows to try and knock it down. (Barrels up! Must have mail!)

I don't recall seeing any wartime colour pics of French tanks, but in several b&w photos the camo patterns are very clear and bright. Also similar camo patterns can be seen in many drawings. Perhaps they thought this camo worked well?

Seriously, I tried, but there was a lot of action and stuff to see.

That strange early Stuart is the M2A4, yes the earliest version of the M3 Stuart. It saw action against Japanese tanks in the Philippines during the Japanese invasion, with the 192nd and 194th US Tank battalions.

Love the pictures. Those were some great moments with all of you!

M2A4 or M2A5? The stencil on the side says "A-5", but I suppose it could just refer to something else.

I got an e-mail from Wild Bill with an attachment today, and after checking it with every virus scanner known to man I was reassured that it didn't contain any mines, but I still opened it from across the room with a long stick.

What I found inside was a few photos forwarded by Bill from his brother Mike, and a note asking me to post them here, which I'm happy to do.

First up, a small shot of Wild Bill contemplating a Panther G. From the date on the file, and the different armor in the background, I think it was taken about 4 years ago.

The next shot in the Wild Bill series is a close-up of the front of the Jagdtiger, clearly showing a pair of "dimples" from AT fire.
