Check the weather report and the time of the day in the cursor's black box.
Either clouds or darkness could be obstructing you from obtaining positive IDs.

Ancalagon,
Good tip, it may be cloudy. I thought that the other issue might be that my planes are flying too high to get good visuals...

This is a brilliant AAR, so well thought out and organized, I'm enjoying reading it.

Hi Guys,
Life and such has gotten in the way of me playing this scenario over the last month. Also, I will admit freely, I am finding it very intimidating - trying to control so many different forces.
So, I have decided to try a couple more tutorials - to see if I can get better at actually commanding my air forces. I want to try things out and see if they work. Does anyone know if there are any good carrier tutorials? It would be interesting to see how to manage the air wing on a carrier...
I will get back to this battle. I have read/seen some other AARs on this battle, and I want to finish it, but I need to improve my understanding of air ops more!
All the best!

I hear you brother. I was in the middle of Okinawa Bound from Chains of War and I got myself all hog tied, I've taken a break from CMANO for a while in fact, but I'll be back to it. I'll look forward to what you post here whenever you do.

Although not Tutorials the three scenario set by jmarso: 'Russian Civil War' is a good and relatively easy primer on CV operations. Haven't played them in years but from memory they ease you into the various aspects fairly well.
Keep with it, there is a lot to the game but you'll get it. These AARs are great.
You may enjoy chewing on some of the smaller community scenarios, Mark Gillis has created a bunch that are relatively small but tricky enough to keep the interest up.

Bart,
I will definitely keep plugging away. Thanks for the suggestion on the Russian Civil War. I only have the Northern Inferno game. Can I play the community scenarios?
Have a great evening,

Mike: Very interesting AAR and I like the way you presented it. I'll look for anything else you post here.
Cheers,
