Riga has been reached. I have secured supply for next turn. I am starting a second axis of progression toward Leningrad through Velikie Luki and its railway.

Army Group Center - August 3rd, 1941 - Smolensk dilemma:

At the end of my turn, the Panzer corps in Smolensk was still able to move. I'm afraid he'll be surrounded next turn but I don't see Smolensk being taken back so I'll take the risk of leaving it here... We'll see.

Well, nothing significant was reached this turn. Only Vitebsk was taken back.

Kiev is now well protected. I will avoid any direct fighting waiting for my infantry. Two objectives for this turn:
1. Destroy the remaining corps in the yellow pocket
2. Progress toward the Dnepr.

Supply situation - August 17th, 1941:

As usual, few of my Panzer corps have no more supply source. But, this is improving. I may use supply trucks next turn to launch another offensive.

The kill ratio is still good but air battle losses are increasing:
1. around 1:10 for land units
2. around 1:14 for air units

Still no ground attack this turn but lots of air activity from the Russians. A big fight occured over Kiev.

Deployment status - August 17th, 1941:

Two additional small corps (XXVII infantry corps and XXVI infantry corps) have been deployed on August 1st, 1941. Nothing more is planned.

The main objective of Army Group North will be to secure the rear of the green objective line. This is vital to resume our progress. A new yellow objective line has been defined.

In the far North, I could have taken the city of Kem but our supplies would have been horrible with the risk of being surrounded. I decide to withdraw.

Finally, enough infantry corps were available to assault Kiev. The Soviet 22nd Army is retreating. And, a small pocket has been created.
