September 41
Clear weather is over in the east.
Good things: managed to hold on to Leningrad and Moscow and the southern cities Kharkov and Stalino so production should be good over the winter.
Bad thngs: Russian airforce basically shot down by half for fairly little xp gain. Not sure what is the best way to manage the airforce. Maybe it is better just to hide it until the winter? What do you people do with the Red airforce?

In the med the British are advancing but are now facing a whole lot of axis units. There are a couple of naval engagements outside the coast of Alger. The British come up on top 25-6 strength points inflicted and 2-0 in sunk ships. The turn after 10 October with some carrier strikes and naval air the British sink all 4 italian subs in one turn (I feel Imust have been so lucky) so the British rules the waves from now on.

I had a lot of screenshots on another computer but I will skip them not that much has happened. The English is pushing in North Africa and the Soviets have tried to mount some kind of offensive with basically no success.
As can be seen the Axis take their garrison seriously so Italy looks like a hard nut to crack. The answer might be go straight into France. The good side it takes a fair amount of Germans to garrison everything so I am not very scared of an German 42 offensive I hope/think it will be possible to handle.
On balance issues I still feel the western allies is a little to strong still somehow. Flavisusx did put in some effort to defend Africa and caused some damage but in the end Africa will still fall like 14 months ahead of history.
For the Russians I think the Siberians maybe could enter the game with the winterization advantage or maybe a one time amount of improvement points. I know historical offensive wasnt much but I find it hard to make any decent attacks at all but maybe it is just me [:)].

In the east the Germans attack some and soviet units and airforce melts but the army was at a big size and economy is good since most major cities still in Soviet control. I might retreat a bit to try to lure the Germans forward a bit but last turn the Germans retreated a bit in fron of Moscow so we advanced a little bit instead. Want to inflict damaghe on the Germans but most trade is at an disadvantage for me.

In the Mediterranean the British recapture Greece. Athens is a VP hex might be important in the end also want to stretch the axis a little bit. The US invades Sardinia. Not sure but I think general plan is to take the islands during 42 and maybe go for both France and Italy in 43 but we will see what happens.

Flavius said somewhere that he likes to have a 2000K German army in 1942 and I see he has. Of course, the Russian army is also strong.

Low losses this is possible. Though I assume with the lack of risk the Allies have a very large army as well. Not only but over a short period of time both technically and experience-wise the Allies should have a relatively on par Military.
Now the Axis cannot afford to lose 'too much of their corp of XP/Manpower' or they will melt under the Elephants Stomp. I am interested in seeing how Flavius contains a major Allied break out. I always find defensively Allied Air and #s weigh in on too many fronts and drag the Axis tooth apart.
Soviet Air Force Missile, I find it's useful at a point. It takes losses and it gives them. I have seen people utilize against soft targets to train it but that takes too long. I think putting it right in and just taking losses where the Axis air is weak is just fine. It is comparable to the Luftwaffe in size so.

Invade Sicily with a division to get some intelligence what the garrison looks like. Will be hard to take Sicily at least for now.

I think I will withdraw it until the winter next time see how that goes or maybe the first edition of the Red airforce should just die. Still I feel I handle it worse than I should [:)].

I don't want you to get too good with the Allies you might be hard to defeat [:D]
Flavius is making a game of this... I am shocked he has kept himself together so long! I am curious where the Allied SlegdeHammer shall Fall?

I dont think there is a real sledgehammer in 42 but maybe I am doing something wrong [:)]. But I am fairly happy with the progress of the western allies but not super happy about the Soviets but even they look better than historical.

Hard fighting on Sicily. Defended by a lot of Italian units and 2 german arm corps its been a slog but in the end 4 invasions with a lot of landing ships spent and allied airpower seems to be enough to take it. 4 Italian corps and 1 german arm corps shattered so far. I think the last German arm corps will retreat from Sicily if that happens the 42 campaign will be over for the western allies with all objectives achieved. Spend rest of 42 and early 43 build up and plan an invasion of both Italy and France in 43 thats the general idea anyway [:)].

In the east the German continue to conquer the Crimea. I start to build up in the Vitebsk-Smolensk gap which I hope will be the place where I can try and start to attrit the Germans a bit in 43. The Germans havent really taken a lot of losses in 42 so is still a formidable opponent so I think the Soviets will struggle a bit. Especially I need to start to build up some kind of airforce again to have any hope of making any progress.

Semi-Historical looking campaigns but no Stalingrad/Caucasus... Of course Crimea has little or no value.

Yes and the fact that the allies are like 7 month to 1 year ahead of history frontlinewise [:)].
