I've never had a game be this quiet before. It's given the UK the time to organize and plan a little diversion once Barbarossa starts.

The UK builds 60 landing ships, the US builds 30.

Turn 44: April 25, 1941

U-boats sink 6 merchants but take 4 steps damage.

We take Narvik. No German reinforcements for Norway.

There are some interesting peculiarities about the Axis attack:

-Strong Italian armored presence
-Very weak Axis air power

Ah yes, the stockpile a bunch of points and dump it all at once on rifle armies strat. It's legit, but I do not like it.

I think it is an inefficient use of manpower and in the long run manpower is the biggest resource constraint for the Soviets. I also think it gives up too much ground that could otherwise be held with the much despised rifle corps.

It also locks you in to buying up front a bunch of expensive units at a lower level of experience than might otherwise be the case.

I prefer instead to buy these rifle armies gradually, and with as little impact on the Soviet manpower pool as possible and at a higher average level of experience because you are recycling veteran manpower back into them.

Then it's probably my inexperience that shows. I've never had manpower problems with the Soviets, or indeed any real problems at all.
