Slowly but surely the Uk is retaking the Guiness beer of Ireland.

More merchants lost. I do realise that one has defend North Atlantic with tooth and nail and I havent. I have been a bit complacent but I have never before seen such an outcome like this. I have even built merchants and escorts with the US something I have never done before [:)].

As can be seen Yugoslavia was conquered in April and Greece looks to be next. There will be no Barbarossa this year. Stalin adjusts and starts to build Soviet army 2.0.

In Egypt the standoff continues.

As can be seen so much UK merchant losses. In all honesty German sub losses also very big that is all subs as I have yet to manage to find a single German raider.

If I understand Alvaro correctly, locating raiders will be easier with the next patch.

Might be a good thing but I must say in previous games I have always found them and sank them eventually. It is just these two games that has been difficult and I dont think anything changed with the chance to find them so maybe just a lot of bad luck. With that said I think maybe the raiders are a bit too effective compared to real war so I dont mind tone down the raiders and if needed buff the subs a little bit. Also because of the new oil constraint on the UK I think if you sortie with the navy to find raiders I think your chance should be pretty decent to do so.

I've never had any luck with stopping surface raiders. It requires the UK to commit almost all of its fleets to attacking them to have any chance of getting a hit much less sinking one. A very costly and ineffective way. It will be interesting to see what the change in 9 will be.

Yes almost all the navy was needed but I felt in general you had the oil to do it. Way harder now with the 20/turn oil loss. Yes will be interesting [:)].

Finally in an engagment outside the US coast I managed to find some raiders. Unfortunately my fleet was small and so losses were not that big but it is a start.

Finally Ireland is liberated.

Looking on the force size I think my naval warfare have been soso in this game. Been way to aggressive with trying to do port attacks with CVs against landbased air and also the surface ships vs port attacks. Attrition rate have not been very good. Remember I also got the whole French fleet. Luckily US will enter soon so I will get some more ships to throw away [:)].

And German ships sail where I have never seen German ships before [:)]

Cant wait for the US to enter. This BoA have been very annoying and might have caused damage that might be hard to overcome. On the plus side of course a untouched Soviet union so very exciting.

Royal Navy continues to do badly. Poor Nelson [:)]. How was that outcome possible not even an ambush ah well.

At least using the newest Beta seems like finding the raiders is quite a bit easier of maybe it is just the randomness of the dice.

UK woes continues with an invasion of Lebanon. I sent an corps to Beirut but the Italian navy made short work of it. I like the higher damage on interception for sure. I shouldnt have sent the corps in the first place.

Some reinforcements have arrived so might not be that easy for the Axis to take Egypt.

But look at the size of the UK navy. And most ships are severely damaged and remeber because of the conquest of France I had the entire French fleet as well. Many lessons learnt in fleet management in this game for sure.

In Egypt much going on. A double axis invasion on the coast of Egypt and a paradrop. British units severely pummeled but none shatter. In the counterattacks manage to shatter the invading Italian corps and the German para corps. That was nice of course. Hope to eventually get the German corps on the beach as well.

Battle of the Atlantic has cooled down a bit since the German fleet retreated back to France. I am a bit scared he is actually repairing the main ships and with the UK navy so pathetically weak I have also started repairing ships a little bit. Something I have never done before in any game. I dont even know how expensive it is but I think it is costly indeed.

I am also thinking maybe cost of building/repairing ships should come down quite a bit. You really cant afford to do a shipbuilding program even the UK launched a fair amount of new ships and that was dwarfed by the US effort. Kind of sad as more naval action would be fun so I think the game would be the better for it.

Fighting in Egypt continues. As can be seen losses pretty high for both sides and units getting worn down. But I think now with US entry imminent that I can hold Egypt. Also launch a small invasion behind axis lines. Overran an Italian air unit and hopefully making supply even more difficult.

On the eve of US entry into the war the axis western (not eastern) pincer in Egypt is hopefully defeated for now. This turn almost get one Italian mtn corps and manage to make a German inf corps surrender. UK units weak and open for counterattack but I dont think that there are that many axis units that can take advantage (I hope [:)]).

To celebrate US entry into the war. I deceided to throw away some more Royal Navy ships. I saw the German fleet but my brain didnt register so I first attacked the Italian naval unit then moved into Gibraltar. Big mistake! [:)].

In Africa not that much happens. I shift some reserves to the front on the eastern side of the Suez canal.
