Regarding the Editor, would it be operated similar to the old WitE.

its a lot easier in that sense. Some things are pretty much one or two clicks and you can set something up. Designing a complete scenario has a number of pitfalls but the tools are there.

I was just reading through the part of the manual about weather and I was wondering if you can see on map forecasts. I've seen screenshots of the whole map zoomed out weather forecasts in a pop up window (similar to the Show weather screen in WITE1) in some past threads. Is there a way to see this on map as well similar to the Weather zones mapmode in WITE1? That could be pretty useful for figuring individual hexes likely weather.

Really enjoying the manual previews!

A quick question: I've come across a few spelling mistakes and run on sentences in the sections I've skimmed so far-- would you folks be interested in some proofreading notes?

(as an example: pg 98, 5th paragraph, "You maybe faced with a different layout," should be written as "may be" instead.)

It is great to have the chance to read the manual. I wish more Chapters can be released soon.

BTW, I wonder if there is an error in Section 15.4. The last sentence of the 2nd para read "The naval skill rating cannot be increased." I think there is no longer a naval skill rating for leaders in WitE2.

On the bottom of page 66, the two paragraphs on Command Range are confusing. The first paragraph states that, "...the unit should be less than 6 hexes away...". The second paragraph states that, "...ensure that combat units are within 5 hexes of...".

I realize "less than 6" and "within 5" are equivalent, but it's confusing language. I would stick with "within 5" or "in 5 or less hexes" to be clearer.

I also reacted to that section of the manual with a "what is this ...?" but soon figured it out just like you...
I Agree with your point...If it's not to much of a trubble to change this it might be a good idea to do so.

..... and for that, we are most grateful.
I suspect I will especially enjoy this one!

Would be appreciated if the whole manual would be downloadable like a week before release so people could read and study it before playing the actual game. If not here maybe it could be downloaded from Matrix site (if you have preordered). [:)]

Regards

I agree with Michael. Need all the time I can get digesting the 500+ page manual before I play it.

(from) 19.2.2
"Operating beyond the ideal altitude for a plane will
see some degradation of its combat efficiency. The ideal
altitude for each plane can be found in the editor (41) and
the data exported to a spread-sheet."

Wow .... very nice!

Just want to say that whoever's responsible for the 1-page guides in this manual has done a fantastic job.

I write for a living, and I don't think I've ever seen such a good job of concise communication in a game manual before.

Top notch work.

Agreed, coming soon to my games den as laminated aids......
Hanny, how does one get these laminated? I made a special trip to 'Staples' to buy Gloss Paper so my printing of these guides would look a bit more professional. I want them laminated, as well, but I'm not sure where to get that done. I really like these guides.

Office Depot has same day laminating services. That's where I intend to get the guides laminated. I'm sure there are equivalent type office supply stores if an Office Depot is not available near your location.

Check your local printers, ( they will ring bind for you if your going to print of the manual, try your local Council, or University they may do it for you as well) banner makers etc, and see if they will laminate what you want for a good price, also look on amazon if you want to go DIY and have a composite pages of several pages back to back, or double sided play aids if you prefer, not expensive when I just looked.

NP.
The only reason this old gamer knows that is I turned 65 last year and decided to laminate my SS (no, not THAT "SS"!!!) card.

I can't seem to find the thread for manual typos so posting here.

Top of page 123 has a double negative that's confusing: "If none of the assigned bombers cannot reach a particular hex...".
