This is the terrain file with the swamp graphics.

Thanks for the files, much appreciated.
I dropped the logistics convoy route hex back to only a dot, so as not to obscure the sea shades showing depth, to see what it would look like.
It is OK on moderate zoom, but not so easy to see on the full expanded map.

Also tried blending the new land tiles with the older Retro sea hexes and the convoy route hexes toned down a bit, which works well with the low contrast unit counters that I am using.
Thanks again for the great work.

Cheers.

Thanks Rasp.,
You've been a long time supporter, and have always appreciated the feedback across a few games now.
Very cool that everyone is able to mix, match and tweak to come up with a style that suits them.
I've been thinking about why I went with such a light ocean graphic...
And perhaps it's because unlike European theatre, where the emphasis is on lighter map mods, the ocean is a secondary theatre of operations.
Whereas in a pacific context, much of this game is played on water.
(maybe overthinking it).
(also great to see Ash Barty win the big plate last night).

Thanks for this, I'm a little late to the party for WPP but just picked it up and really enjoying your mod as much as I enjoyed your old school WP Europe one.
One question, did you release your resource.png? I couldn't find it in the thread, so perhaps I missed it.

Apologies for late reply.
I thouht this mod had been dead and buried, never too sure how successful it is (never see it in an aar for example).
From memory I just ended up grabbing one of Uxbridge's I think.
I got tired of making city tiles and numbers... but some of the toaw 4 mods piqued my interest.
I'll dig up the file and see how far I got with it.
The resource.png can create big aesthetic change to the map, did you have a particular boardgame you wanted to match to? Happy to take a look.

Also thinking of tweaking a beach terrain by a subtle yellow hex outline, as the map mod relies on dialog box atm.

Not dead for me, as your work is the 'go-to' map mod.
The board-game look is just perfect and I would like to post an AAR using this mod, when life allows.

Thanks Rasp.
this is the updated weather.png
I've added drop shadow to help those of us with more mature eyeballs!

example with drop shadowed weather, and tweaked Japanese and Imperial Chinese Units.
Also gives a hint of Uxbridge's resource file. Which sits nicely on the map.
(I also use his terrain file, but I tweaked the swamp to be more cartographic).

No it's not dead, I've been playing the Chinese 1937 scenario with your map and it really makes me feel like I'm playing on a old school paper map with counters. I'm going back and forth between WP and WPP and no matter what I keep using your map, it is so clean and enjoyable. I need to try your counters mod, I'm kinda trying all of them and seeing what works best, too many great options, I can't decide.
As far as the resource.png, the one you made to match your map for the original WP looked great, I was curious if you could just make it work with WPP?

That's Mr. M.
I'll take a look at what I can resurrect.
School in Aus. is about to get back and I'm under the pump atm.

I may have missed something, but where can I download this mod? It looks fantastic!
EDIT: Nevermind, I just figured out that those images are the mod! Thanks for making it!

Does anyone know if Magpius ever posted the unit counter mod shown in this picture?
I really like the look of the white Japanese counters but I can't find them in this thread or in the Scenario and Mods subforum.
I will answer my own question. I found them. They are included in Magpius' WarPlan Europe Retro Map Mod.

A new computer and lost files later... I'll try and get all the bits back together.
Pleased to hear that some folks were still interested in this.
Thanks.
