IanW - actually my panzers are roughly -5 MPs each over my normal non-motorized games. I took out roughly 4500 trucks out of the pool to motorized that infantry corps. That is roughly how many more unit trucks I had to use for supply on turn 2. For that I lost 5 MPs in each of my motorized units. So far that is the cost I am seeing at this time. I will look into Turn 5 detail further and compare it with my past AARs to see what the differences have been in vehicle usage, repair pool, etc.
Yep.
And the maximum extention of those panzers is what their flank support can support, right ?
You paid nothing important for that extra panzer corps on the front line.

T03 Events:
A shortage in Western Europe. Another start of game failure.

T03 Soviet Attacks:
The only Soviet actions this turn have been recon and supply flights.
T03 Supply Net North:
The supply sources have begun to move beyond the pre-war borders. Naval supply is working to the Baltic ports. Things are beginning to look up for AGN and AGC.

T03 Supply Net South:
Things are still slow in the South but then the 11th Army and Rumanians have just started their advance. Note all of the supply traces in Rumania and Hungary. In my usual games I would have the APs to start building depots in the garrison towns and cities to alleviate the need for trucks to transport supplies. I do not have those APs in this game. My previous experience has shown that not getting rid of these supply traces are worth about 2K trucks a turn as the weather worsens.

T03 OOB:
The Soviets are still over 3M men. I hope that will go down as we get past the initial manpower surges and the pockets are eliminated.

T03 Ground Losses:
It is nice to see high Soviet losses in all three categories. But they will have to get higher fast for me to stay ahead of the curve.

T03 Air Losses:
Soviet losses remain high and I am continuing to punish the Soviet transports flying supplies to the front.

T03 Production:
Supply levels and vehicles in the units remain high.

T03 Freight:
Supply is looking good with a large surplus reaching the units along with low need.

T03 Trucks:
Nothing looking too far out of place here. It is nice to see over 9K Soviet trucks being switched over to helping out MY supply chain.

T03 Air Phase:
I 'click and drag' my Recon Directives further east to my new points of interest. The directives are already set up so I just have to move them. This is fairly fast and takes less than five minutes to complete.

T03 AGN:
18th Army is progressing behind PG 4. 16th Army is defending the eastern flank. PG 4 creates another pocket. Next turn is my last turn to capture rail intact in the Baltics so I am trying hard to force the AI to retreat and allow me to capture as much rail as possible next turn.

T03 AGC:
The Bialystok Pocket has been erased. 2nd Army has formed. 4th Army is protecting the southern flank while 9th Army is rushing forward to protect the northern flank. PG 2 and 3 combine forces to blast holes in the Soviet defensive lines and rush up to the outskirts of Smolensk. Several Soviet divisions are isolated.

T03 XII Motorized Corps:
The corps continues to extend PG 2's flank between the furthest infantry (and cavalry) advances and the rest of the Panzer Group. It has crossed the Dnepr to the south of Mogilev. This has served the purpose and freed up enough motorized units to help punch through the Soviet defenses and allow Smolensk to be threatened earlier than normal.

T03 AGS:
17th Army cleans up the pockets as well as it can leaving only a few units to go. 6th Army starts to advance and hold the northern flank connecting to AGC's 4th Army. 11th Army and the Rumanians are running after the retreating Soviets. PG 1 is not quite able to form more pockets, although it has ZOCd in a small pocket with 6th Army and is running down what it can.

T03 Cleanup:
I throw two more flak units to Norway in an attempt to improve its Air Day ratings. They will arrive in two turns. Next turn we shall see what effect two flak regiments have and then T05 will see these two arrive. That seems to be the worst deficit in the Theater Boxes. I have snapped a picture of the North Africa Ground boxes. The Pink (all of the HQs) are units that are locked into the theater. The Gold (?) units are locked in due to low theater values. So there are definite limits to what you can do in a Theater Box if you are trying to gain more units.

T04 Events:
Shortage in Finland and Italy looks like more game start problems. Those should start to slow down in the future.

T04 Soviet Attacks:
Nothing of any merit other than air recon and resupply.
T04 Supply Net North:
AGN is almost exclusively supplied through Riga. AGC supply sources are moving eastward from the pre-war depots.

T04 Supply Net South:
Lvov is up and working as a supply source now. The rest of AGS is still pretty dependent on pre-war depots.
