Two top-class players who just happen to do AARs that are both extremely entertaining and informative.
Can't wait.

M60 is top-class. I just meander in the dark bumping into things

But thank you DesertedFox!

I am genuinely looking forward to what is going to be a serious challenge. It's apparent to me at least that a lot of folks who read my AAR against Dave see a lot of issues with balance. While I understand the concerns, the experience factor weighed a lot in that game and some folks really haven't fully considered that, at least in my opinion. Dave had significant supply issues and HardLuck is getting very skilled very fast in that area. So his army, wherever it is on the map, is going to be a lot meaner. I'm going to watch helplessly as portions of my army are gobbled up, but that's almost impossible to avoid, especially on the road to Moscow. There just isn't as much ground between Smolensk and Moscow that one can keep backing up and backing up some more as others (RoadWarrior cough-cough) have implied.
Aircraft losses are going to be heavy. These near immortal Me-109 pilots and flak crews will feast away no doubt. But that's ok, by game's end I've either built or receiving 90,000-ish planes, so like...bon appetit. And I actually have a long term program that develops the air forces all the way to the end.
Hopefully people won't be too disappointed if I don't get too wrapped up in the AAR part. After all the years playing WiTE, it just feels now like I'm writing the script for Rocky XXXXII. [;)]

That's right. A decent amount of people did not factor in that it was Smokingdaves first game and then claimed that the Soviets are far too strong. In fact, I think he did exceptionally well for his first game. I believe the only reasonable change to the Soviets is to prevent them from being able to use assault HQs until Dec 1941 and maybe tone down accessibility to guards unit a bit. Otherwise I think they are fine. The Axis has the capability to occupy as much as they did historically and the AARs in which I have seen where the Axis gets completely stuck during the early turns are ones where I see players not resting their units or managing the supply system efficiently.
What are the restrictions on motorisation this game? I have a few suggestions but it is up to you if you want to hear it.

@M60 Why do you think I try to change up games from player to player

But yeah, Moscow is the key for Germany. Anything less is self suicide. Having said that I still feel that you should have this game but I will drag it out for as long as I can
Dave did very well for his first time! Just the supply bite him in the arse

I said it before and say it again I admire Smokindave. I have seen him fight all the way to the bloody end on more than a few occasions

I hope I can do half as well as he did in those matches.
I think 1 Assault HQ is fine. But I am on the fence at the moment.
NO Motorization at all.

I don't, necessarily. But I'm not assuming anything and will just wait quietly for the turn. You're just playing the scenario designer right now.

Well you're going to get 1 1/2 for starters. I'm sure you can figure out what that means.

@#1 = Maybe it is best if I just resign from the game. Maybe that would be the best scenario.
@#2 = I am not smart, never have been, never will be. Help me out.

Great! Now maybe you can go back to being halfway cordial. I personally refuse to play people that cop an attitude with me.

Agree - M60 will get a much better challenge. In hindsight my supply/logistics network was a real mess - I really botched it. That shouldn't take away from M60's skill in any way. You can tell from his AAR he is as skilled as any Soviet commander.
With that said though I think I speak for all of us aspiring Axis Field Marshall's that we are counting on HLYA raising the flag over the Kremlin by Turn 16 (ish....). Good luck to both of you.

@ M60 = More than happy to get on Discord to discuss what the situation is. But until that time I refuse to play until we remedy that situation. If it is me and what I type, just tell me. If you just can't stand me just tell me & I will move along. I always valued you as a person and as a great player with a great amount of knowledge. But this just doesn't seem like you to me.

I think you're one of the two best Axis players out there and I've said that on more than one occasion. I was not as you say copping an attitude but posting something I thought would be entertaining. Obviously it was not and I'm sorry if you were offended. It was certainly not done to have fun at your expense.
