This is the area just NW of
Pskov right now. The Soviet defenders are few so there's not much of a problem making progress in this
AO. The supply rails are repaired up to the front lines but the weather has turned foul. I made a movie to show how the weather is right now. You're looking at it.

I thought there might be someone out there that might like to have a copy of the saved game file to just look around in depth and check things out and maybe play the game from T10 onward. So I zipped it up and attached it to this post. You guys are welcome to make comments and/or make suggestions. This is your AAR too.

It's now
T10 round 1 and this is what's happening just north of
Leningrad right now. The Finns are making slow progress moving the Soviets southward. The Soviets have started building a beautiful wall around
Leningrad and they plan on making the
Mexicans pay for it. Stalin thinks of himself as a stable genius. Which reminds me: Trump's hair color reminds me of the color of my urine after I take a multi-vitamin.

This is what's happening just
SW of
Leningrad right now. There are two Soviet naval units near
Leningrad and I spent
33 Stuka's sinking one of them. Now to sink the other one. The rail has been repaired to near
Rakvere already so the supply situation is
38 on the rails and
20 at the front. I've lost
7829 HRS's, there are
43.6K HRS's, and there are
1476 HRS's on hand. It's about
5/10 cloudy with scattered rain.

This is what's happening around the
Pskov area right now. The rails haven't been keeping up with the forces of
AGN so supply levels fall off quickly: it's
38 on the broken rail(s) at the left edge of the map and
3 at the tip of the spear. My boys have been moving and fighting for 10 consequtive turns now and they are getting low on gas, low on ammo, and low on sleep. I'm going to have to rotate the troops on and off the front lines so I can give them some much needed rest.

This is what's happening
SE of the
Pskov area right now. My Panzers have run into Soviet roadblocks on all three of the major roads going east. So I've split my forces into three major groups and I'm attempting to surround them and destroy them with what I have at hand. I have follow on forces headed this way so they can replace the Panzers on the front lines and let the Panzers zoom off to the east. My bombers dropped the bridge at
Staaraya Russa for all the good that might do. There are two more busted bridges in this area off map. I was trying to stiffle the flow of supply and/or troops to this
AO but I have no idea if it accomplished that or not. I have yet to establish a strategic reserve. I'm thinking of parking one of the Panzer divisions on the rail somewhere in my backfield and use them for that.

This is what's happening in the
Velikiye Luki area right now. There are some busted bridges I have to deal with in my immediate future. In this area the follow on forces are almost keeping up with the Panzers. I'm using the Panzers as the tip of the spear because they are fast movers. When the follow on forces arrive at the next Soviet roadblock they replace the Panzers to reduce the roadblock, taking a turn or two while the Panzers zoom off to the next Soviet roadblock. Rinse and repeat. Supply levels are good in this area. I have some engineers headed for the two busted bridges together just east of a large-ish Soviet group. I'm going to use the engineers to repair the bridges and as blockers so the Soviets can't use the road to escape when I finish surrounding them.

This is what's happening in the
Smolensk area looking south to
Gomel. In the top portion of this image I have successfully lept my forces over the major river and now there's a battle where I'm slowly pushing the Soviets east toward
Smolansk. In the lower portion of the image my forces are just now arriving at the crossings over the major river and I'll soon be fighting for those crossings. I'm thinking of using my pontoon guys and/or engineers to get across the river into the Soviet backfield to get those crossings cleared. Once I'm on the east side of the river I plan to push south and east at the same time.

This is what's happening in the
Kiev area right now. I've arrived at the surburbs of the city and as soon as I can get my follow on forces to get there as well they will take over the task of babysitting the Soviet defenders in the city. I want to pound them with the RR arty for several turns before I attempt any probing attacks. There are two seperate Soviet Guards units ( maroon units ) and they have been giving the
11th Panzer Division some grief to the
SW of
Kiev. Their attacks have turned my tank unit an orange-ish red healthwise and I'll need to replace him with somebody so I can park my tank unit on an urban hex somewhere and let him refuel and refit.

This is all that remains of the southern end of the last Stalin Line and I'm in the process of surrounding the Soviet units just before I destroy them. The Romanians are clearing out the
Bessarabia area of Soviet units that got trapped on the west side of the river. The Soviet air shock has been raised to
50 ( mine is
120 ) so I'm no longer doing any airfield strikes because my losses are higher than I'm comfortable with. But I manage to bust two bridges per turn on average so far.

Here's what's going on near
Odessa. The
11th Army and the Romanians are fighting over the last crossing I don't own yet to get at
Odessa and surround it.

T10 round 2 and here's what's going on near
Gomel right now. I just now captured a crossing over the river. Now to stream some troops across it.

It's now
T11 round 1 and I've run into another Soviet roadblock at
Velikiye Luki and it's such a stout defender that I'm using my Panzer divisions to dispose of it quickly, more quickly than leg infantry would do it. I know my fast movers shouldn't get into a firefight because their advantage is their speed but this Soviet roadblock could hold me up for several turns and I don't think I can afford to spend that kind of time right now.

It's still
T11 round 1 and I've been moving units and now I've arrived at the city of
Kiev. I've got it surrounded on the west side and there are forces crossing the river north of this
AO that will be fighting their way south on the east side of the river that will surrouond
Kiev on the east side and THEN I can start the probing attacks to take down the objective. Meanwhile I'll pound the Soviet stacks with RR arty, regular arty, bombers, and my secret weapon:
German march music 24/7. They will be begging to surrender after a couple of weeks of continuous march music.

This is what's going on north of
Odessa down south. All the Axis forces in this image are pushing to the
SE to get to the entrance to the
Crimea ASAP. The Soviets are sparse and spread out and it's easy to surround them and destroy them. The Romanians are clearing out the west side of the river and everybody else is pushing on the east side. Axis forces have already arrived at
Odessa and the siege of that city will begin soon.

It's now
T11 round 3 and this is what's going on near
Orsha right now. I'm still pushing the Soviets backward slowly and every once in a while I'm able to surround a Soviet unit and kill it. The advance has stalled in this
AO for now. The rails are repaired all the way to the front lines so supply levels are great.

This is the front lines in
T12 round 1. The Finns have been making slow steady progress in pushing the Soviets southward.
AGN forces are about 80% through clearing out the peninsula
NW of
Pskov, have pushed through
Pskov itself and are now making their way north toward
Leningrad.
AGC forces near
Orsha have successfully leapt the river and are now engaged in the slow costly push toward
Moscow. Axis forces have passed through
Gomel and are now pushing south to clear even more river crossings. The
Kiev area is surrounded on the west side and are awaiting a surround on the east side to start the serious attacking. Meanwhile
AGS is engaged in clearing the west side of the river down to
D-town and
Odessa is surrounded on the west side and needs some arty to begin pounding the Soviet stacks. The Romanians are across the river and pushing toward the
Crimea.

The weather has turned slightly nasty. Lots of clouds including rain. I'm not sure how much this will affect the combat results and this will be a learning experience for me. I'm going to be watching for any alteration to the combat results due to the weather.

I've been moving units according to the OOB order and I've come to the
290th Infantry Division and I've discovered that it's been roughly handled recently and is in great need of some rest and refit. It's been in the front lines since the beginning of the conflict and it's been worn down to about
1/2 it's original strength. It needs to gather some more equipment and stock up on supply and that needs to happen soon. I'll see if I can't extract that bad boy out of the action.
