GaryChildress wrote: Sat Oct 14, 2023 6:03 pm I've made a complete set of the standard ATG subformations. As a quick mod, I'll put them in a zip file that uses the same names as the standard ATG random scenario subformations so that anyone who wants to try out the new units can replace them quickly without any tinkering in the editor. All you'll need to do is unzip the contents of the file into the /graphics/at2/fordsf folder and you're ready to go.

Below are some in-game previews. I took screenshots of.
Nice previews. One small problem with your solution of how to set this up for ATG (and Phoenix). Every time an update is made, those directories are updated too. So... that would overwrite your work. No biggie though, you can always apply it again, but it is worth noting.

Oh, and it won't work on Steam versions, as they'd detect it as a faulty install, and overwrite it.
I'm not as worried about Steam. I believe Matrix provides DL copies for anything we purchase on Steam, so if someone wants to modify the directories, then they can DL a Matrix copy. That's one reason why I prefer Matrix store over steam.

Nope, they don't. Matrix offers Steam versions, but Steam does not offer Matrix versions.

Oh well. I'll put together a quick change mod for unit graphics. People can use it or not.

OK. I thought I posted this in the thread but for some reason it didn't take. Anyway, here's another go at it. Full roster of generic base game subformations.

Some more doodling. Trying to figure out if I can make these profile pics into some reasonable-looking SF graphics.

I like them already.

Maybe make the background look like architect paper, and the lines more white (outlined maybe) and then you have yourself a blueprint of a tank. A Nice looking graphic if you ask me :)

Thanks. I've tried but can't get a clean enough image to create blueprints. These are 3D models I'm using and there are the unavoidable shadows in places that look awkward in blueprint form. I'll have to think of something different.

Too bad. I'd love to have someone who could make them :) I have LOTS of images I could use it on.

I think I'm going to just continue with the units I've been making. My next project is to fill out the unit lines so that subformations that upgrade will upgrade to different looking units. For example, I'm working on creating 4 different light tanks for the Standard Light Tank I - IV. It should give modders some more variety for graphics.

Not a bad idea either. You can do the same for planes too. Ormand has made his 4Seasons mod able to mod those too.

Here's what I have in mind. I'm going to start out with a pre-war design along the lines of the Renault FT. After that is a tank a little like an early WW2 Pz II a la the Polish Campaign. Next Light Tank III will be a mid 40-41 Pz II. And finally Light Tank IV will look a little more like a Pz III.

Here are the light tanks test rendered.

Light tank I will basically be a relic of WW1.

Then we get into one with a 20mm cannon and coaxial machine gun dual mount.

Finally, as technology progresses we get the standard 37mm gun on the light tank along with a coaxial MG.

And for the last installment, we have a light tank armed with a 50mm gun. Something of a cross between a Pz II and a Pz III.

This will probably be the typical pose for the tanks, a little better use of the area size I'm working with, filling up the screen a little better.
