This AAR ends here. Elvis, thanks for the game.
Germany experienced a bloody French campaign. I saw the opportunity and sent Rommel to get the glory in Egypt. Barbarossa started late. Capturing Turkey and Persia put unexpected great pressure on the Soviet defenses. The Japanese did a great job disrupting the USA's plans. A great effort was needed to expel the Japanese from the American continent. The Allies went for Japan, condemning the USSR. The Germans moved fast. The Allies were overextended, their navies were devastated. Japan was barely surviving but the capture of London broke the Allies back.

thanks.
what's your take on elite reinforcements? Is it worth idling a unit for 2-3 turns to get them at max 12-13 strength?

From the Allied point of view. In the pre-game, I knew I was outmatched. Top players maximize everything Troops, Movement, Supply, Strategy, etc.
France: Axis didn't take the Mine position beside the French M-Line on turn #1, was my tell he was gonna play it by the book, not allowing me to get lucky with banging an Army/Corp on my open. British decided to go risky, readying the Egyptian HQ + Army to join the BEF in France. We were going to fight Gerry hard & pray for lots of snow. In England, AA-guns were being made. Only Tech, was Spitfire Fighters for the most part. Indians, French, and every swinging grunt was sent to France. Amazingly, it went well. The Carriers in the Channel added to the defense. Strategic Bomber, Tactical were the critical counter units. French found cities, stayed in M-Line, fought well. Able to kill some Gerries, held for to end of Summer. May have left too soon, from Brest, 1-more turn easily (looking at Taifun photos after the fact, I would have), feared losing last of my ground units. GOOD
Egypt: didn't think he had time/resources to visit Pharoah. Well, didn't take much, because I had nothing. We ran with those untrained Tanks which the Yanks sent and the British Tank which didn't goto France. We sailed away. NO OPTION
Russia: Was a disaster. Smolensk was cut-off from the South. Southern Sector was garbage defense. Rostove/Stalingrad weren't ready for Turkish invasion. My defenses never got a good line. We ran in the South. Being cut-off would been even worse, I guess. The Russia defense in general, sucked. Never had a good defensive position, was always running, not set. Eventually, i just rammed into units, was dead anyways. Killed HQ, I think and some tanks. UGLY
British mid-game: When I ran from Egypt, I had those 2-Tanks, HQ, and weak Royal Navy which was trashed in MedFront. Taifun is thee top MedFront player. Was either goto Asia to help kill Japs, or try Egypt invasion from South. Since he had Turkey, the supply would have beaten me. Went to Bangcock. AVERAGE
USA: Once Japs did DOW, Intelligence spotted a transport in striking range. Old my carriers were ready, so I sent them, found a huge invasion force heading to California. Sank 3 juicy transports, but gave away my Carriers. California defense took awhile, the unrealistic rain is outta hand. I live in Boise, Idaho, it never rains there. Northern California doesn't have endless 6-months of rain, for the Jet Stream is at Portland, Oregon. So lame. Should have gone thru the Japs like butter, I was suprised by the rain. Hadn't battle there much. AVERAGE
Taifun explained the game already.
China/Pacific: My play was AVERAGE. Made a nice invasion at Hiroshima, maybe I should have tried Korea instead, don't know. Japs were finished, but the war was lost in Russia.
Yanks/British went to North Africa was absolutely stupid. I could have battle more, despite the weak morale. DUMB.
Russia Play: AWFUL
Was a good game, I had a fighter's change. Japs were history, delayed in France. Russia play was so bad and going to North Africa instead of keeping my rather strong RAF in good supply. Taifun executes well.
Fun game. I'm little burned out, only got couple small games going, will return soon enough

Why is this considered by the book? There's an easy way to prevent the army from ever dying.
The rest of the French defense seems to have been really good, surprised to see it do so much damage.

You lost the game here, I think. Couldn't you have sent the navy to blockade the key ports? The bombers don't have the range to hit Benghazi or Tobruk, and you can bring your own airforce too when he does.
Russia: UGLY
no 41 Winter death I guess put the nails in your Egyptian coffin.

I really enjoyed reading through the AAR of this game. I think there was some excellent plays by both sides. I think the key being Russia was the weakness in Elvis's game. He came back strong in the Pacific area with Japan on the verge of being knocked out. The ME was a disaster and abandoned prematurely in my opinion. Also gave me a number of ideas to hopefully improve my game

. Thanks guys.

Even tho Taifun won, he did demonstrate the dangers of gallivanting all over creation with Kido Butai. All those carriers are certainly a powerful striking force, but they're fragile and take awhile to repair and refit, which is made even worse when it is in some far-flung place far from friendly major ports and has suffered a lot of attrition. Once the IJN player reveals its location, an astute Allied player can hit Japan where they ain't, which is exactly what happened here.
