@VPaulus - thanks for the heads up about the new Intel driver for the integrated graphics. It wasn't showing up when I ran the 'check for updates' in the Intel driver app installed on my laptop, so I had to download and install using the link you provided (thanks!).
And the result .... drum roll.... it works!!
JTCS and CSME v3.00.1 now working properly - no more 'white screen of death' or funny mosiac effect where the map should be

Many thanks for all your help!!

Just be careful when updating Windows, as sometimes Windows "loves" to install older Intel graphic drivers.

Hey everyone, today we released a public beta for Vietnam. You can see details
HERE.
We're hoping the fix we applied in the public beta along with the recommendation to update Intel Graphics drivers will cover most, if not all, cases of this happening.

Intel pushed out another integrated graphics driver in the last couple of days ( gfx_win_101.6734.exe ). Unfortunately, the white screen is back. I haven't tried rolling back to gfx_win_101.6732.exe yet. Maybe there will be another update in a couple days.

Rolling back to the intel graphics driver gfx_win_101.6732 does solve the problem.
A relevant post down in the JTCS forum.

The white screen issue is worrying and could hurt the game’s reputation, especially for new players. A quick fix or official workaround is needed to keep player trust.

Hello encore,
While this issue seems to have been triggered by a Windows update and resolved with an NVIDIA driver update, we also received a code snippet from Matrix Tech Support to prevent it from occurring again.
This fix is included in the latest update. The Public Beta began in late April, and the official release went live last Tuesday. Please update your games to Vietnam 2.00.
03 and Middle East 3.00.
03 to apply the fix.
See
THIS for more information on the Update.

I ran into this issue a couple of weeks ago and didn't think much of it. Just tried to fire up the game to get ready for some long plane rides. Saw this on the forum, and it's definitely my configuration (built-in Intel + NVIDIA card on a Surface Laptop Studio 2). I did just apply the suggested fix, but no joy; still the buggered up video rendering. Bummer, I was hoping for something to kill time with on the plane ride home!

And for clarity, it wasn't working with the Vietnam 2.00.03 update. I did realize that I'm not 100% sure which version I'm running because I can't access Help->About because of the whitescreen issue. So I did apply the update and I
presume it applied correctly, but it's hard to verify because of the whitescreen problem (unless you know another way to see the version).
