Could not wait for a revised version

Retried with the same settings, Normal and 1500 $.

This time placed carefully the subs in the western but allowed zone.

Short AAR:

While the subs were approaching, changed the WRA of the destroyers SM-6 missiles, so that they could shot down ASW helos. The intention was to help the subs attack.

Unfortunately the E-7A guides them and gets too near of the Red fighters, was shot down. Not sure this behavior of a strategic AC is WAD.

The tactics of the subs approaching the convoy laterally and from the rear, that I learned in TBlakey's Greenland scenario, was also very useful this time

If you are lucky, the subs alone can infiltrate the convoy and sink enough of the amphibious force to trigger the strategic victory message. I had to replay 3 times a save to finally succeed without losing any sub.

All the F-22s, F-35s and B-52s remained landed along the gameplay. It was completely different this time. They are not needed to win in the Normal setting.

While I was too busy with the subs operation, the Red side continued the attack on Luzon and managed to destroy the 2 destroyers, facilities and support AC, but they lost.

- Add a more specific Anti Shahed weapon?

- The invasion force has no troops embarked, that would sum a few losses to the red side when those ships are sunk, and also add a lot of immersion to the scenario

- Attached is the lua history file of this 2nd test that seems different.

Another one

v21 tested on B1892, outside of the editor. Settings: Hard and 1000 $. This is the most difficult, but you can get 4 subs!

2 Seawolfs and 2 Virginias, they are deadly.

0 spent on Fighters and bombers, as commented I think they have not enough weapons, but perhaps in hard mode there are more air launched weapons?

A lot spent in ADs and radars.

Some capabilities bought this time, the balloon has CEC capability and a good radar, but too slow.

Short AAR: Retried again the winning subs strategy, this time the Wolfpack formed by 4, infiltrating the Red Amphibious Group and defenses laterally and from the rear. E-7A and drone lost again guiding the missiles (CEC capability) to degrade the ASW helos, still there were quite a few trying to hunt the Blue subs, but were unsuccessful. Perhaps they need some subs protecting the convoy from Blue subs?

Comments:

- Add names to the units, destroyers, subs. Right now only the class is displayed.

- Civilians became hostile when lunched the wolfpack attack in a mission, not sure why. There are 2 civilian sides, why?

- Lua history file of this testing attached. One of the errors probably related with the capability Hack UAV, I could not deploy it.

- Removed the comment above of the wide of the bars, it was the size of the window in my laptop, too small.

- Also the size of the window was causing me problems selecting the capabilities, I thought it was a bug, but no

- More Sats in this setting, one of the Chinese and and one American in the same trajectory. Not sure it is a bug.

Mmm what type of mission?

There are two civ sides because they have different functions and different postures

There are subs protecting the convoy but there's a huge gap in tech between US and PLA, maybe I need to limit the purchase to one sub only

OK, it was not the mission, but me

Inadvertently marked one of the merchants near the Chinese group as hostile, and so all of them became red. Perhaps the civilian sides should not have the collective responsibility ticked?

Are there Red subs around the convoy? Blue subs do not detect any while attacking. There are torpedos, I thought they all came from surface escorts.

If you limit the blue subs purchase, the fun is gone. How to win then? I think you cannot win with the fighters and bombers right now because a 2nd wave is not possible.

And the anti-ship land platforms are useless, they are destroyed before the Chinese ships are on range. At least on my first try. The HIMARS have more range but cause little damage.

Regarding the loses of CEC ACs, should they have this risky behavior? They guide the missiles automatically too near of the danger zone. In this case the missile was avoided, but I lost them always this way.

Mmm I don't remember seeing that behavior while playing the scenario, is the E-7 assigned to a mission?

Yes, the RED subs are assigned to "screen" the convoy, but screening it's not really a thing in CMO atm, maybe I can place some fixed acoustic sensors in order to give RED a chance to defend against subs but not sure what the detections look like, I'll need to check.

Yes, you can win only with aircrafts, in fact is kind of easier than winning with subs (just use F-35s haha). And yes, the Himars and Typhon launchers are more useful in the ASuW role at the moment due the thin ABM defense.

No mission for the drone/E-7A.

Do I create a bug report?

Well, the first try was with 12 F-35s armed with anti-radiation AGM-88G and 24 F-22s with StormBreakers, and then the B-52s with LRASMs.

And it was not enough for the Red AAW escort, it could have worked if I had mounted a 2nd wave, I think.

Mmm if it's not assigned might be WAD but feel free to create a ticket if it feels weird, I'd put it into a support mission.

Yep, use F-35s with AARGM and SDB-II (24/32 AC), keep the F-22 mainly for Air to Air and you should be good to go. Also you'll need to shape a bit the defenses, take down their AWACS, use non-kinetic effects etc.

One more

This time 0 spent on subs. A lot of F-35s bought, 144

A lot spent in ADs and radars and some capabilities.

Short AAR: Pure air attack this time. I was not aware that the Joint Strike Missile was anti-ship and even less of the range

- 1st wave 72 F-35s with JSMs.

- 2nd wave 72 F-35s, that were armed first with the poor StormBreakers by error. Rearmed for the 2nd wave with JSMs. The error was not that bad, only 4 tankers available for 144 F-35s is not a good idea.

- 3rd wave, the remnants of both that could be rearmed with the limited magazines available of JSMs, 26 F-35s in total.

This was enough to get the strategic victory, however as you can see below 642 JSMs were required to defeat the impressive ADs of the Chinese naval group and the air escorts.

Comments:

- IMO not easier to win this way than with the subs. Besides this requires more time and the Red side can do nasty things in this extra time available for them.

- CMO slowdowns with so many JSMs in the air.

- HUMINT enemy units spotted. I was going to suggest some mobile Marine units available to destroy them. However there suffered losses, not sure how. There is also this in the lua history file, is it a problem?

UNIT: Inf Sec (Recon) not in REDUNITS

- One Lua fuse exception on the screen. I think it is the cause of CMO slowdown when playing the last hours of the scenario, when the Red side caused widespread No Comms trouble. Printed many times in the Lua History file attached.
