Which one to use?
Great question. I don't understand why a fixed gun firing the same projectile as a mobile gun, would be more lethal against ships.

Answer is probably to use the one that delivers results compatible with the goals of the scenario. US side should at least be able to carve out a beachhead IMO.

Yes. I think I'll start with the fixed versions, and see how they test out. :)

Germany used a lot of mobile anti ship artillery. They used 88mm, 105mm and 128mm flak guns occaisionally. They used heavy field artillery pressed into coastal defense in Norway and France. Common mobile heavy guns used in coastal roles were 17 cm Kanone 18 (K18) and long‑range, accurate 21 cm Mörser 18. Mobile Coastal Artillery units (Heeres‑Küsten‑Artillerie) were formed with mobile coastal artillery battalions equipped with 10.5 cm K 331(f) (captured French guns), 15.5 cm K 418(f), 15 cm sFH 18 howitzers and various Czech 10 cm and 15 cm guns. These units were truck‑towed and could redeploy along coastlines.
