Pfnognoff:

Turkey has no trade income because I have not solicited trade through GBR (My lapse). We have a phase button to ask GBR to trade. Not automatic. The only automatic trade we have in the game is that GBR can trade with nuetral minor ports.

I've gotten used to common practice in my games that everybody was trading, that I started to presume it is done automatically [:)] My mistake...

But, from your answer I conclude you are asking GBR if they wish to trade, if so it is contrary to the rules, where every country decides if they wish to do Domestic trade. If they wish they get the second value while GBR gets the first. (8.2.1.2 & 8.2.1.2.1)

On the Economic summary screen you are not showing American trade income and you don't have GBR Colonial income, but you have Spanish gold train?

What about trade with America (double the domestic value of one port)? It seems like it should be included and that it should be automatic as there is no reason not to trade with America.

GBR can choose to stop (seize) the American trade of any other MP they are at war with.

The change is the mere fact that you can add money to help your chances of achieving an alliance in the diplomacy phase.

Also please understand that you can still loan money in the economic phase to a major nation or one of your freestates!

Thank you

The crux of the original question was where is Turkeys trade income from America as I don't think Turkey is at war with Britian.

I understand what you are doing. But by allowing major powers to exchange money during the diplomacy step you are altering the game. I doubt it will be a huge change. But players will have to pay closer attention to when they want to ally.

For example: If France declares war on Prussia (who was not allied to Great Britain) after an econ phase. Great Britain could then ally with Prussia and give them (Prussia is almost always a cash poor power) a huge amount of campaign funds which they could use to supply their army.

There shouldn't be a transfer of funds during the diplomacy step. I understanding you are trying to work out a way to influence the decisions of the AI. Maybe you should just promise $ to be given in the next econ phase or several phases. And use that to influence the AI.

Point taken. Hadn't thought of the ramifications of money changing hands in the diplomacy phase BUT your example is interesting???????

We may have to take a look at this????

Thank you

Unless that money goes nowhere, I mean, taking as a cost in diplomacy, dinners, jewelry, bribes to VIPs or politicians from that country etc.

Or your change it to only allow it in each economic phase.

I also think that American trade should be automatic, as well as the BR one, the Britihs player should say with who wishis to trade and which US trade is trying to stop, and then the players who are willing to trade with BR agree or denied, and those which where not at war (of course the ones at war dont have the chance to trade with BR and maybe neither with US) will not be asked by the computer.

Regards and good luck with one first game Marshall!!!

BTW, I forget to tell you how great I think they look the depots [:)]
I think is the best looking, not fancy stuff, like in the original looks awsome, I want to feel that I am playing the same game as the board one.

The black/white flags are garrisons???

I like it, but maybe you should show the factors and the maximum like 6/10 to avoid clicking on them everytime you want to know it, it is a very usefull information that should be show at first sight, IHMO.

Good job, really good, I have vacations in august Marshall, do you think I will be able to play?? [;)] I dont care if it is a beta version [:D]

Just kidding. Keep up the good work.

Good work, Marshall! I love the screenshots. Anyway. I think that playing with Turkey doesn´t represent the real battle in Europe. I mean, In fact. powers like Spain or Turkey have to do nothing (just a 7 PV average) to win. On the other side, France or Britain must win batles to win the game. I would like to know what are they doing, because I think it´s important to evaluate the real situation of the game and if AI is a skillfull player.[;)]

I can't say I've ever voluntarily chosen not to take British trade when offered, but I guess it should be an option. But the answer is surely simple. Just have the default setting at start as enabling trade. It is then up to the individual players to stop it if they want to.
