Spring 1942 - Fortress Europe

We hope to be able to fight off our enemies for the time being. Reinforcements are being rushed to the Southern & Eastern Fronts in hopes of forestalling offensive actions by our enemies. It is unknown how long we can maintain our lines.....

Spring 1942 -

The Japan Army Air Force completed its Chinese mission this season - eliminating all remaining Chinese forces (both regular & irregular) in the country. It has been deemed safe to begin the rapid transfer of Japanese colonists to the continent.

The navy has presented us with some ambitious plans for some future operations. We move towards decisive action.

Paullus, could you post a screenshot of the Militroy Forces (and Production) Levels at this point? I am most interested in the state of the JA economy after the CH offensive.

Soviets, Spring 42.

With only 26 units of Supply, we didn't do much. We took Odessa (abandoned by retreating Germans), then massed everything to hammer and retake East Poland.

The borders are strong, and since our erstwhile allies see fit to relax in sunny Italy, we decided to build our own supply. Stalin wants to celebrate Christmas in Berlin.

Spring 1942 - WA

Not much happening again. The u-boat menace has dropped drastically. A few transports are sunk every now and then but nothing that can't be made good in our shipyards.

That little whining meglomanic Stalin has been screaming for about half a year for supplies so we sent him some. I hope that shuts him up for a while. [;)]

Our troops in Southern Italy are working on their tans and causing havoc at the local bars. We are content at the moment to tie up German manpower that is sorely needed on the Russian front. Also, to be honest I am spread pretty thin when it comes to manpower and just can't afford to beef up the Italian landing enough to go on the offensive. [:@]

Hopefully the Soviets will be able to put the 60+ supply I sent them this turn to good use destroying German troops during the next turn.

Japan is another story altogether. The Chinese are practically out of the war. Becket needs to watch his back in the Soviet Union and India is extremely undermanned.

On the good side. Once the US enters the war I will have plenty of fresh troops available to deploy around the globe.

Uncle Joe is very happy. He says not to listen to Winston, we have no designs on holding territory after the war. See you at Yalta!

Our successes at the front have been few and far between as of late. Our U-Boats moved into the Atlantic once more, inflicting some harm on the Western Allies supply lines. On the Eastern Front, the decision has been made to abandon East Prussia to shorten our defensive line. An air attack against Eastern Poland was successful in destroying several Red Army ground units - but it is only a matter of time unless the course of the war can be changed.

Japan - Summer 1942

BANZAI!!!!!!

With the Emperor's blessing our forces have smashed the Western Allies positions in the Pacific. Units from the victorious Kwantung Army, rested from their Chinese campaign, captured Hawaii after the glorious Kido Butai smashed the ground defenses. The US Pacific Fleet was scuttled at dock - without a shot fired.

Our troops were invited into Siam, while moving against resource-rich areas in the East Indies. We have taken the plunge & will emerge victorious!!!!

I'll be upset if "Air" units can destroy ground units by themselves. This is one of the Big Problems with Battlefront's Strategic Command.[:(]

Trust me, the damage I inflicted was light (and aircraft are extremely vulnerable to counterair fire) - damaged a couple of units, maybe destoyed a militia....airpower alone will not win you this war (unlike SC).

Sorry for the delay, I'm travelling for work today and tomorrow, so no turn until late tomorrow night (or maybe Saturday).

Soviets, Summer 42.

Rokossovky's Odessa Front secures a spectacular success, taking Romania and its three factories. The dagger of the Workers and Peasants Red Army is now poised directly into the heart of the Hitlerite empire.

The Germans still have formiddable forces, and more in production, but not enough to save them!

Summer '42 - WA

Now that the U.S. part of the WA is unfrozen we hope to teach those Japanese now lounging in Hawaii an extremely hard lesson. The remains of our Pacific fleet has consolidated near the Panama canal. From here we can threaten Hawaii and react to any incursions towards Australia. Paullus's capture of Hawaii definitely took me by surprise but he had to burn an awful lot of supply to do it.

We sent 20+ supply to SU to help them in their struggle.

We attacked the Italian fleet in the Adriatic. Sank a few ships and forced the rest into port.

Next goal on our agenda is to clean up the Med and start attacking the soft German underbelly.

China -

Nothing

After a long technical problem, Jupiter is running again!

Soviet forces drove the Germans out of East Poland and took German territory in Austria, as well as undefended Bulgaria. The writing is on the wall.

Good news. The board was getting to be a very lonely and slow place to be without the AARs going on. [:'(]

WA Turn --

We threw everything we had in the Pacific against the Japanese fleet loitering off Hawaii. The results ( as well as a look at some battle detail information is shown below ).

It wasn't as clearcut a victory as I had hoped. Losing the carrier air hurts because I have to replace it before I can take on the fighter's he has based in Hawaii. He has very little supply there ( only 1 ) so he will have a penalty on him after the first attack.


After the battle and other movement I was shocked to see the WA down to only 35 supply. Sorry Uncle Joe but the well was dry for lend lease this time.

Builds - Supply, Supply, supply. Did I forget to mention I built some supply?

Winter - Germany 1942/43

The Russian Counteroffensive has bitten deep into Reich territory. We mustered our troops & launched a counterattack against the Red Army in Hungary. We were successful in clearing the country of the Soviet forces, but at heavy cost.

We were able to reinforce our positions in Central Europe, at the expense of opening up holes in our Balkan defenses. Our industries continue to hum along, producing new forces to throw into the fray. With luck and Soviet over-extension - we hope to last through the year.

Winter - Japan 1942/43

A vicious naval battle was fought off the coast of Hawaii last season. Our carrier forces have withdrawn to the homeland to regroup. Our defenses in Hawaii are still firm & it will take quite a committment of American forces to take them back.

In the SRA, we captured the rest of the Phillipines & moved into New Guinea as well.
