Medieval castle type walls, buildings and bridges; jungle hanging rope bridges just for infantry; electrical and phone lines and posts; some animals in a field [dead or alive, sheeps, cows, pigs...(in D-Day there was a lot of dead cows)]; port facilities and machinery, cranes, etc; POW camp type barbed wire, fences and towers; forest and jungle hexs with trees down as if they were bombarded weeks ago; telepheric; tunnel entry; houses with smoke coming out of chimneys; football stadium or field; airport control tower; improved barbed wire.

Well, just some (crazy) ideas. Erase what's already done .

Well, I am very interested.

About the tents. They should be overlays, I would think. They have no height nor real 'protection' factor, so I'd say no to them being buildings. Looks great, though. Would be cool if they could have, say, woods concealment factor.

The trestle bridge is good. I would say that the trestles need to be more rectangular then square.

Man, you are good at this stuff. Are you doing each entire scale for each unit or do you resize the image down with your graphics program?

Wrecked planes & vehicles(without the smoke generated when you take a "regular" unit and destroy it in place) and various ship types are things I've wanted as map icons lately.

Morning Herr RockinHarry.

Do you still need those pic/links for the pen's flak towers?

Hello Herr Doom

...will try to compile some info next time on how to put graphics into the SPWAW Shape files. Not really much to know about and the process is fairly easy. Mr. Chlanda already provided lots of info in his help files, but there are additional things to know. I´ll try to step in there.

@All: If you have nice sources or even finished graphics to be put into Shape files, let me know. Any help is appreciated as my time to do much graphic work is pretty limited.

I also have some valuable info about terrain shape files to be found in my "WaW Map Edit" Doc file below (signature).

How about snow-covered highways and rock roads?
The should have 3 tracks like a trail. The center track is shared by traffic from each direction. To pass, one vehicle or the other pulls over to allow the on-coming traffic to go by.

Yeah..snow covered roads should be good looking in winter maps. The dirt roads and buildings we have now somehow don´t really fit in SPWAW maps..unfortunately. Problem is that you can´t expand the road shape file so that SPWAW uses them automatically. Roads and bridges are fixed.
Workaround would be to make separate winter road/bridges shape file that replaces the original file. Needs file swapping if summer roads are needed again.

Not so difficult with buildings, I already made a set that looks like this:

Gotta agree with RichardTheFirst...Field with "deceased" livestock would be a real good touch..Black and white guenseys would stand out,and road sections with "kaput" horseteams and carts would be correct.....Also really like the idea of castle-type structures..Europe was/is loaded with them, and even a single tower could be used for the water and power stations littered all over Europe..(I always thought they looked exactly like castle towers)..Bob.....
