Grotius and I are now 1 week into scenario 115. I just took Linfen with 2 divisions. It had 0 forts. I would suggest that to slow down the japs some, Linfen be given some level of fortification, say at least 3.

This is on the change list for CHS - all Chinese bases except Hami will have a minimum fort level of three.

"Likewise with Darwin: you're right to take out the railroad, but now it will be difficult to supply Darwin overland, as the Allies did historically."

I've been playing with Andrew's map for some time, and am of the belief that if you send extra supplies to Whyalla (NW of Adelaide on Australia's south coast), there is just enough transport for some of that supply to reach Darwin. It will not be enough to allow for offensive operations from Darwin, but it does appear to be enough to supply the ground troops there. Andrew, have you ever tried this? I'd like to know if my theory is correct, of if I'm just experiencing supply spoilage at Whyalla and Darwin's tiny resource base is providing that supply.

Don, that's good news. I decided to try to see if I could hold Linfen with its starting garrison, which is set to 100 prep points at Linfen, with wooded terrain, against two of Cap's divisions. Hehe, as Cap says, it didn't work. :)
As for Darwin. I add a very small amount of intrinsic supply generation to Darwin to help make up for the difficulty in supplying it. I would not like to change the road to a railway unless absolutely necessary.
Yeah, I hope you stick to your guns and keep the road/RR the way you have it. It's one of my favorite fixes on your map (even if it won't help me in my current game against Cap, hehe). But I wonder if the very small amount of intrinsic supply is enough. With 5 resources there and in Daly, I'm not seeing much daily growth so far. :P

Try bring the Australia Command HQ to Alice Springs. It should stockpile 20k supply. Wouldn't this then trickle into Darwin? Of course, that would mean once less HQ to stockpile supply on the east coast.

I found a little problem. The hex directly to the west of Palau shows a reef, but the hex data show this hex side to be water.

So it does. Thanks. I will add this to the list of things to do for the next map revision...
