No, I think she was speaking with heavy irony of the tendancy of mankind to lionize men of 'power' over those who selflessly seek to do good.

BTW - this with your pseudo-Shakespearean quote about Mogami (...improving his craft, iirc) makes me wonder if you are/were a English lit. buff/major/teacher. Your profile says information specialist, but there are many paths to that, i think.[:)]

Let me see, it was so long ago.... Ah, yes! I was a language major (Russian/Chinese/Arabic), trained to teach English as a Foreign Language. Did so in Taiwan in 1970s. I was before that indeed an English major, which is probably where I picked up the humbling habit of admiring other people's wisdoms.
And my great hope is we can all be teachers and students throughout our lives, of all things.
