Eddy - I changed "silly" to "unnecessary" in my post thinking that some may misconstrue my meaning. I see I was too slow on the edit. [:(]
I have no issue with constructive criticism, but the SZO discussion was over the top. I couldn't even read the whole thing. That's probably why I rarely post on such forums as they often degenerate into internet shouting matches. I know from reading here that Panther has excellent customer support. But to be fair HPS also has excellent customer support, but I contacted them directly.
Anyhow, if anyone from any particular fan-base took offence at my post that was not my intent. I don't have enough time to play the games, let alone argue about them!

BAL,
I don't think anyone should take offense after all we're a pretty tolerant bunch here. I would say that most of us here are more interested in having a good time and endeavouring to create, develop and play the best wargame we can than argure for arguing sake. So rest easy. [:)]

I'll type quickly then, before you edit another thing

Over the top ? - you must be new to this internet thing

Seriously : check out some flamewars on UseNet for the *real* abusive stuff.

Sure, the main difference is not customer support but customer participation.
HPS : total secrecy as to their next game/project => no customer input
Matrix : announce early and open a forum => customer input
SZO PzC forum : fanboys only
Matrix forum : apart from the maniacs at the WitP forum (hi guys) pretty tolerant and open for new ideas, criticisms etc.
Now, I don't have to tell you which approach will in the long term result in the better game ...

See, that's the difference - everyone in here will shake their head and ask themselves where you get this idea that your post could be offensive.

I've got a good system going regarding this : argue while at work, play when at home

Re Dave - Thanks for the comments. Some people say I take it too easy.
Re Eddy - I used to post a lot on internet forums, but too often the discussions devolved into name-calling rather than a reasonable talk about our favorite hobby. I just no longer care for that. I will say that Matrix has one of the better moderated forums, and that's not just sucking-up talk. [:D]
I would post more from work but time prevents me. The only reason I'm posting a lot today is because a shipment of materials I need was delayed. [:@]

Heavy words so lightly thrown... Eddy we know where you live (we don't really, but Belgium is small, and Flanders even smaller [:D]) and we're sharpening our pitchforks [;)]

p.s. How about those guys over at the PzC forum? Are they sensitive or what?[;)]
More defensive than the Russians at Stalingrad.

You know what really gets me about the PzC camp? I really honestly wish they would come up with a new engine because the battles they choose are so freakin cool. I mean, what other game offers you the chance to play Kursk, the whole thing, down to company level? It's amazing. If they would just take the time to make them playable I would instantly convert. Playing PzC as it is right now is so annoyingly interesting. I love to see the action unfolding on such a large scale, but I hate going through the massive amount of work necessary to make it unfold.
Cheers
Paul

That's funny stuff. Thanks for the link. Check out meaning number nine. Until I left Mexico I never knew there were any other meanings.
What's even funnier is that they have missed the most offensive meaning of the word entirely.
Cheers

Hola, cabron! [:D] I just love saying that word without risking a fistfight.
Panther: Go modern, get a defense contract from military anywhere and make good money folks. If you make good money, we all benefit with your continued business life.
Here here! I'm all over a modern setting as well. I know it's been visited thousands of times, but Fulda would be intense. Israel 67/73/today would be something to behold as well.

Nice. I have played quite a bit of ATF. Found it pretty damn hard. Coordinating your attacks was very difficult to say the least. I'll have to revisit it to get up to snuff (don't have a copy anymore)
