When you arrive on Friday there will be a big map of the area with all the possible sites to visit marked on it which should make it very easy to plan the trip in detail then and there. Don't worry about Stavelot, the bridge over the Amblève which carried Peipers tanks on the way to Trois Ponts was rebuild [;)]
But they had to leave this tank behind in La Gleize, some 12 km from Stavelot - ain't it a beauty ? [;)]

What are you going to do for the "pansy" Englishman who prefers wine? Come to think of it, if we have a map, some booze and photos from the internet, we could just pass out at home rather than go out, get drunk and die of exposure.

Marc, we can compete for heaviest equipment. I think I may have you beat.
If you lot want to make yourway east, I'm spending May-June photographing the Lake Balaton area. I'm going to retrace the "Spring Awakening" offensive route. Maybe I'll find a nice halftrack to refurbish...

This is just not fair- it's a long hike from Arizona to the Ardennes.
Oh well, I guess I'll have to revisit the "famous" American Civil War battlefield of Picacho Pass (now a Jack in the Box(tm) restaurant with drive-through). Gettysburg, eat your heart out!

Haven't had the pleasure (you b&*@rd you [;)] )...
but I have seen the Panther variants & a JagdKingTiger... indeed most impressive [:D] All three were equally impressive compared to the active M1Ax MBT.

Hmmmmm, that was the other campaign my grandpa fought, he got captured there by the russians.
June, I´ll keep this in my notebook, the funny thing is a friend of mine is spending the next 3 or 4 months in Budapest, work related. And man, I guess you could relly teach me some good photography tricks either

Chateau Piganeau - a Saint Emillion Premier Grand Cru - bottled it myself - preserved & reserved for a real connaisseur just like you.[;)]

I’m just a little worried about the “bottled it myself” part! Anyway, may I assume that your reference to “preserved & reserved for a real connoisseur just like you” means that someone, like me, who enjoys Aussie wine wouldn’t know the difference between good and bad? If you do, you’d be correct, my aim has always been skewed towards quantity rather than quality.

I knew you would - but actually I did - my father-in-law and some friends buy it in "cubitainers", so you have to bottle it yourself - the bottling part is such hard work we have to pauze & sample a lot [:D] - it's our house wine, locally known as "Chateau BBQ" [;)]

Since you seem to take orders for the refreshments, I prefer "Stella Artois" over "Duvel" (comes from living in the Rhineland) , oh and I like my fries with "Sauce Américaine" [:D]

Stella is the stuff we ship to the rest of Europe 'cause *we* won't touch it. Jupiler is the superior German pilsner type beer from the same brewery as Stella - you'll see.
