shouldn't you take into consideration the fact that cities and towns might in some cases be vastly different in size from what they were during WWII? The terrain might have changed too...
Hi mate - not using slam dunk cut and paste of big chunks you cant do that without wrecking the makeup of the game, the nature of each hex has has not changed, the new candy is being applied almost hex by hex, I think a strip of 8 is the most I have done at any one time
as for cities - if on the map its 1 or 3 hex's thats way it stays- it ist just a mater of blending the sat image from each region into each hex - all grabs from Goolge are from 250 miles altitude after coming down to 22 miles to get as much detail as possible - strange to say even with the detail you can get except in a couple of places, so far cultivated areas are not showing up in the images - not a sign in India - the cultivated GFX had to be created
hex by hex in a lot of cases paddock by paddock that why this project will take time

Fantastic work.

Now someone has to improve the crappy little icons used to represent land units.

CobraAus:

Very nice map.
However, where is the Rangoon railroad, connecting Bangkok to Rangoon?

Thanks.

Corba:

You may have to comprise, about the Rangoon Railroad.
I believe that the original map did just that.

Building a road instead of a trail, thus creating a partial railroad system, between Bangkok and Rangoon.

Thanks.

And yes, I am a Japanese Fan Dude!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow !!! Totally Cool !!! I like that Hobart is up the river somewhat. I remember the Sydney-Hobart race back in 1972; wind was light and the front boats were late; I was on an Australian boat called Police Car. The radio jocks told the town that the boats were coming in late, in the dark, up the river. I remember sailing up the Hobart River about 11:00 pm, with both sides of the river lined with cars, shining their headlights onto the river so the racers could see the cans and tack within the channel. We did this for about three hours, till the finish. I'm from Florida, but Ausies rule! Bless you Cobra; good on you and good job too.

ok guys I know whats going on the map base I am converting at the moment is the new RHS map
which had extensive changes to the Road/Rail/Track network so observations that are based on CHS extended map (current version-still work in progress by Andrew)may be inacuate - but keep the info comming as its very easy to miss something biulding the network
When this map is done and Andrews send out another CHS map I will reverse engineer the network for a CHS version then have a look at Stock
