OKH admits that heavy losses have been suffered during winter. But the Russian advance has been slowed to a crawl - their losses are now over 100,000 squads (how many men is that?), 24500 planes and 15,000 tanks. The fighting has been very bloody.
As men volenteer all across the Reich the Wehrmacht is recovering.

Soviet forces have liberated Vilna and thrown the Germans out of Minsk. German resistance is tougher in the south but they were unable to defend their Dnepr river positions and many powerful armies have established bridgeheads over the great river obstacle!
