I do notice that the AI has left its bombers exposed in eastern Poland and 2 tac are dispatched from Leningrad. I damage 1 heavy bomber unit on the ground.

Russian militia is sent north to block the territories between Leningrad and Moscow and bombers in Stalingrad fail to do any serious damage in the south, damaging only one repaired rail in Kharkov.
The rest of the units damaged on the first turn of Barbarossa are repaired and placed but no new units are built as Russia needs to catch up to the German ground units tech advantage. Tac air and armor are focused on and it leaves 9 PP left for supply.

China fall 41
Japan lets China stew in the capital as it moves a few more ground units in. The surplus of damaged infantry is used up and placed and it'll now take two turns to place any more units. If Japan doesnt plan on pushing too far into the SoPac she can take her time here but if she plans on attacking the US she'll need to deal with ever increasing numbers in China first.

grrrrrrrrrr!
I dispatch more units and kill that bugger but the damage is done[:(]
The Germans sit at 6 subs and I'll run the guantlet north with supply anyway next turn as Russia will probably use alot of supply with a strong winter offensive.

One of the random events that can occur happens for the Germans this turn too. Sigh! like they need more of a Tech advantage on my hapless Russian militia !
I believe this event gives 4 points towards the next level of inf attack ( but would never put it above 1 over if the increase is enough to cause inf attack to go to the next level.)
On to 42'

Russia winter 42
If Russia was still a monarchy the correct phrase would be "we are not amused"
German AI oh so generously leaves me a single inf to crush with the First winter combat bonus.

With Japan in mind I've teched Wallied subs to 3/3 and it looks like I get to return the favor on the Germans with them first. Not sure who the goose is so take a gander. [;)]
one transport is destroyed and the subs take up positions north of denmark to protect the convoys expected next turn from German destroyers.

I'm not sure how this will effect things as this is the first time I've had this happen in testing but I can't see it being nothing but trouble for the Allies. take a look at the random events that occured at the end of this turn [:@]
of note this turn aswell: with my spidey senses tingling I put supply into pearl, and 15 more into new caladonia also.

Russia tries to mount offensives west but finds even with combined arms gathered the German infantry is not to be taken lightly.

I have to bring another wave to take Smolensk after this result and the lesson learned is more training is required for the Russian infantry before further actions can be contemplated.
A tactical error by the Russians here aswell, I should've brought tac air in to destroy the rail lines first thus reducing the defenders attack rating.
5 more Russian tanks along with a para unit and militia are ordered to assault and they capture the territory.
Russians move into Kursk and reinforce Kharkov but I'm discouraged with the way the battle has gone so far. Our losses have been too high to be confident of further victories at present tech levels.

China spring 42
China still paralyzed without supply drops off the news pages until she can muster enough support to be of any threat to the Japanese who have still maintained a strong enough garrison to defend what its captured.

Having reached 35 WR the US will declare war at the end of this turn. Just in time I might add as Spain's coup has provided a nasty wrinkle in the plan!

Gibralter is evacuated and 30 more supply is shipped to Russia. I expect the Japanese to strike this turn and the Yanks will have to make some tough choices on what to focus their attention on.
More random events see Iraq changing sides and the Russians getting points in arty tech.
With the World tumbling into full blown conflict its about to get interesting I think.
