So on to Vitebsk. This is a 3:1 +1 on the Assault table....
....8 Both defenders are disorganised, although that is effectively the end of the German turn as all units are disorganised.

China was a good result but that impulse completely finishes the Germans north of the Pripet Marshes. They can now be cut off and surrounded. [:(]
The Japanese re-base a couple of aircraft in Manchukuo.
Just to improve the mood, a 4 is thrown for the weather, which means its Fine everywhere except the one place I have any chance of making progress - southern China, where the rain is now falling in torrents of biblical proportions...

Only the Italian search roll was a success. Which box, or boxes, will the Italian navy include in the combat?

I should have asked at once if you wanted to avoid combat. If you prefer combat, is surface combat ok, or do you want to spend surprise points in changing combat type?

I do not want to avoid combat and am not interested in having choice of target. As for combat type I only have surface units to surface it is.
As for spending surprise points I want to hurt the enemy but moreover, I want to avoid damage and pain to RM shipping. Not sure how that is best played out but guess something like one increase in my naval combat colums and the rest decreases to the enemy combat column.

Edit: How will the Italians spend their six surprise points?
Which Italian ships will they select for what result?

Please increase my naval combat column by 2 and decrease the enemy's by 1 column.
To the extent I have the choice please target:
Barbiano
Abruzzi
Savoia
Fiume
In that order. Prefer damage to sinking.

The Germans take a Combined, the Italians and Japanese a Land each.
The remaining ships of the Kriegsmarine (less the two old er battleships) head for the Baltic, accompanying an AMPH loaded with a division.
The Japanese try some Strategic Bombing of Sian - which proves something of a miserable failure....
The Finns try ground striking Zhukov and friend. Sadly this is also filed under "useless waste of time".
The following attacks are declared:
Manchukuo
Finland
Italy
For the first attack the odds are 14:11 or 1:1 and a German division seeks to take Zhukov in the rear (oh er missus!!). Whether notional is used or not the odds are 1:1. Do the Soviets want to use the notional?
