AGN. Holding off most attacks.
AGC. Defence is looking thin in front of Kharkov. Three reinforcement divisions railed in this turn.
AGS. Am weak to the north. Soviets have hit my main defensive line to the south so will see if that can hold for a turn or two.
Am rotating a few divisions back to cities for refit each turn but limited by rail capacity to about five each go.

Blizzard in all Soviet weather zones, 7th turn of blizzard.
Northeast of Moscow the Axis defensive line is weakening, the Red Army is 70 miles from Moscow.

The Axis defensive line is solid east of Tula.
The Soviet army is 70 miles from the important victory point city of Tula.

In the Rostov area progress is being made, as the Soviet army is now only 40 miles from the city of Gorlovka.

AGN. Lose a couple of hexes and have to abandon Vladimir, but a long distance to Moscow.
AGC. Am weak in front of Kharkov and get pushed back two hexes. Counter attacks rout about 10 units including a cav corps. 7 hexes buffer left.
AGS. Lose a couple of hexes to the NE, now 6 hexes to Stalino.
First partisan attack of the game but no harm done. Am short of rail capacity to move as many divisions around as I would like.
Supply situation is beginning to improve now we are into '42. Supplies were DIRE in late '41 with the new formula in the recent patch, many units getting only 10-15% per turn.

The Axis retreated from the city of Vladimir (1 VP), which the Soviet army reoccupied. To avoid a sudden death
campaign game loss on the first turn of April 1942 the Soviet army must recapture 3 more VP.
Most of the German units in the area northeast of Moscow are now 70 morale or lower.

The situation in the Stalino area. Advancing about one hex a turn, the Axis is weakest northeast of Stalino.

The Soviet winter offensive in the Kharkov area is going well, the leading units are only 30 miles from Kharkov.

AGN. Lose a few more hexes but no real threat to Moscow.
AGC. Soviets getting closer to Kharkov and my reinforcements are slow to arrive. Rout another 10 or so units this turn with counter attacks.
AGS. The advance on Stalino from the NE continues.
Next turn is January so my CVs increase and the weather can vary.

Last turn in January 1941, 9th turn of blizzard.
Making good progress northeast of Moscow. The German units are almost all below 71 morale.
I expect the Soviet winter offensive to continue into February 1941 even if the Axis CV improves.

AGN. I make a mistake and two divisions get trapped because of an impassable lake hexside.
AGC. Soviets making something of a breakthrough to the south of Kharkov, will see next turn how much they can gain from it. Two mountain regiments get pocketed but manage to release them, may be under more threat next turn but have a Pz corps in place to help out.
We rout about 20 units this turn with counter attacks, though a couple fail.
AGS. Another hex closer to Stalino, southern line holds.
No luck with the weather yet.

I think the Soviets are wishing they could indulge in some of that opiate of the masses and pray for continued blizzard!

Man this if getting tense! great AAR from both tyronec and Grognard1812!
I'm doing my own PBEM game as Soviets, so I hope to learn as much as I can for how to winter offensive. this winter offensive looks unstoppable but does Grognard have enough time to encircle the cities he needs? Tyronec is willing to sacrifice units if it buys him time, if a city hex is in danger he could just park 1 panzer divisions, 2 INf. division came hell or high water. worst case scenario he can deliver supplies by air to get beach head supplies state, and from what I've seen from other AAR, its almost impossible to stop the deliveries.
BTW can anyone detailed the difference between reduce Blizzard and Normal Blizzard please?

My understanding is that the biggest difference between normal blizzard and reduced blizzard is that in normal
blizzard (which we are playing in this game) there is a loss of 1 morale for non-Finnish Axis units whenever
they are attacked and the final end of combat odds are greater than 1:2. This can have a large impact on the
morale level of the Axis units after a month or two of blizzard turns. Also the Axis CV values are more
negatively affected by normal blizzard.

The weather is blizzard in all Soviet weather zones.
The Soviet winter offensive is still going strong into February 1942.
The German 102nd and 292nd Infantry Divisions surrender near Moscow.
