I became a Reds fan as a kid playing goalie, with the great Ray Clemence as my idol. The man, the mullet, the sideburns! (That's why I still have a bit of a soft spot for Spurs as well, just don't tell anyone...).

I was 24 the last time they won the league. Never thought it would take this long. But it doesn't matter, so many great memories over the years, at the top having a chance to go to Cardiff for that 2006 FA Cup finale with my son, 10 years at the time.

My oldest son is now 24. So the timing seems apt.

Just hoping he doesn't have to turn 54 before seeing the next league title.

I don't think there is any chance of that...

Let us see where we're heading, another oil state seemingly close to starting their PR campaign with Premier League.

It is what it is.

I've long ago defaulted to just enjoying the games, winning something is nice of course. The next few years should be fun no matter what, with the 30 year wait finally over.

As for the team, it started peaking last season, the core has maybe two more years on it, interesting to see how it will be handled.

Football. Bah! A truly dumb game. Why anyone even bothers eludes me at the moment. [:(] [:@]

Football is the most political sport worldwide maybe not in Sweden.[:)]

Barça dreams: https://www.netflix.com/tr/title/81003984

While Pepe was in Beşiktaş few years ago how harsh is Sergio Ramos to Catalans. I don't respect those players. Football is not about kicking other player or about revenge.

Pep Guardiola. Just. Too. Funny. Well that result brightens up a rather overcast and miserable day in the southeast of Englandsville [:)].

All that money and.... The Carabao Cup. Well done.

well its no brighter in Caithness ... but yes and Bayern's 8-2 offers some (very limited) context for Spurs' abject performance against them

*grumbles*

Football. Bah! Couldn't those Britons have used their time for something worthwhile instead of football. Bah.

*walks away grumbling*

Well, an American football player testing positive for Covid-19. Then they found a dangerous heart condition so he is out for the season. Potentially extending his life.

in a rather changed world, its so good that Scottish football continues to be a complete farce (apart from the wonderful Highland League of course):

Well as a Rangers fan there is a very large part of me laughing my butt off, but as you know, I get no pleasure from Scottish football being so dire.

Sad state of affairs. Do you think there is any possibility Spurs could apply to join the SPL? I mean the gulf in quality may close over time and hopefully Spurs won't get thrashed too much in the meantime.....

I have to say well done to England on two fine performances... in the bedroom.....

I don't know what is worse, English football or English footballers (with a few notable exceptions of course).

Pathetic.

That is an easy question. The answer is, of course, the honourable performance of the Swedish team.

didn't expect Mourinho to try to get sacked quite this early in the season

Well I feared it would be bad (on the basis that maybe, just maybe it would be okay). I was not expecting that SoS. I mean what was that?

I didn't know much about Holberg (although wasn't impressed when he eventually came on for Denmark last week) but he was..... I mean if this guy has been brought in to strengthen the tackling in midfield then once again we've been robbed - whatever he cost. He really wasn't very good - and that is the kindest way I can put it.

Doherty showed promising signs going forward, and Harry tried as usual, but the rest? I give Mourinho no more than a couple of months.

This is going to be a relegation battle. That was just so bad.

Just finished watching the ninth and last of All or Nothing. The fact is, all the things that we lacked in the Everton game, in terms of performance, Jose has been trying to instil in the team over the last 19 months. Fact is - his team are not listening to him.....
