@JWE
Just a question about the packs(many thanks to all how worked on them!!!) for the stock game
When I compare them to the files that are already in the game it seems that some are missing.
For example the allied side has 220 files, but the pack provides only 212. Are the missing files not used?

Every Ship Class in Stock (Scenario 015) matches with a bitmap included in JWE's package. Well almost. Ship Class 1418 (Perth) is linked to bitmap 228, which is missing. The WITP-Package has more bitmaps than it actually uses...

So you have to change Ship Class 1418 (using bitmap 216) or copy bitmap 216 to 228.

Hi, and Hi to Duke,

Duke - In the stock game there are several unused slots and, therefore, several unused bitmaps; the bitmaps try to correspond to slot numbers wherever possible. That may be why there are only 212 bitmaps for 220 slots.

Harald - There are several art packages out there: There is the stock package, that has all (except the bloody Perth, for gosh sakes) the art for a scen 15 game. Yes, there are a couple extras, but that was for 'modders choice', shouldn't affect a stock game.

There is also a CHS package, that has CHS art upgrades, but since the ship/class designations are a bit non-compos, I couldn't do a complete job on those. It's all there, but some of it is a bit obscure.

There's also Treespider's mod, which incorporates my own mod. This one is very, very different; IRL troop loadouts, cargo capacities, range, fuel capacity, and the like. This one is for serious grognards only.

Really sorry about the Perth. People could use #216 and copy it to #228, but you have (or should have) the real Perth. Never noticed the disconnect, mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!

Hope this helps. Ciao.

I really wish WITP would handle aircraft art in separate bit maps just like ships (where each aircraft has a specific bmp file), this would allow easier swaping of different aircraft and art a lot easier.

Please see http://turkeyvulturesart.info/ for all your air art needs. I believe brother Cathartes has done plane art on a year-to-year basis.

Sorry to interupt but not sure where to look for this add-on. Can you tell me if it is finished and if so, where I can d/l it at? The ship views above look very cool and i would like to add this in my game.
 Thanks

If you're looking for the Ship Art:

Stock on Spooky's site http://mathubert.free.fr/.
CHS on Andrew Brown's site http://www.bur.st/~akbrown/witp/scenarios.html#Official_scenarios.

And yes, they're finished.

Yea but they are hard to find because one would expect to see such an import collection somehow bigger presented on the page.

But the are just near the end together with other files from JWE just look for:
New arts by JWE
Standard Art Files - Allied
Standard Art Files - Allied - Blank
Standard Art Files - Japanese

Or take these direct links:
http://mathubert.free.fr/witp_files/Sta ... Allied.zip
http://mathubert.free.fr/witp_files/Sta ... 0Blank.zip
http://mathubert.free.fr/witp_files/Jap ... %20Art.zip

And don't forget to correct file 228 on the allied side because it is missing. Just take a copy of file 216 and rename it to 228 also do it in both folders "AlliedShip_Back" and "AlliedShip_Transp".

@JWE
Maybe a corrected upload would be fine,not only to correct this missing file but as I mentioned earlier als to redo the readme so that it states that you should just copy the files over instead of replacing the whole folder.
You can never to sure that those unused files are really totally useless. A missing file can crash the game and I don't think that's the intention of this wonderful art pack.

Ok sorry not trying to be dense. But I'm thinking to unzip these files into thier own directory, then drag and drop into the witp directory. The renaming things seems a bit complicated to me. If I just drag and drop the files into thier already made respective folders there would be no need to rename any files?
Thanks for any info that you can give.

Wow! That is massive cool. You guys rock. No doubt about it. Well done!
 I have a question though I saw earlier in the thread where some of the ships had camo paint, is that in the art set and comes in later on when the ship is upgraded?

Unfortunately, no camo is included in the standardized art set as per the original request, but you never know what the future may hold. [;)]

However, there are some other camo'ed ships that are pretty close to the standardized scale posted at Rogue's and Spooky's. I've copied several of these into my art folders with new bitmap numbers (AnSideXXXX and AnShilXXXX) and mapped them to certain class upgrade slots via the editor.

Well I'm enjoying the new look either way. The combat screens really look alot better. (no offense matrix) I've been in some other game forums but never seen anything like this before. Very cool that you guys got together and put this out there. Amazing. [8D]

@hvymtl13
Sure you can copy them right over but that still dosen't fix the missing file 228. You still have to take a copy of the file 216 and rename it to 228, in both folders.

I'll have to look through my archives and my web server. I think I've done most of them, but my organisation isn't always the best as I've had a few PC problems [:(] I'll round them all up and PM you later in the week with more info.
