Larry, I took a quick glance at the end of turn file for turn 117. It seems to me that you have far too few troops protecting the flanks of your advance on Stalingrad. There are sections of the line that are very weakly held. I have no experience as Germans but it seems to me that the Germans are in a very dangerous situation. If Dave decides to try and take the initiative early, AGS is going to have to make a very costly withdrawal. Why not take some troops out of the center to reinforce AGS?
I've got about 5 divisions that are "resting" and are available.....I'll move them down there to help hold the flanks. I was wondering if anybody was going to take a quick glance at the end of turn file.

I'm posting the Axis turn 118 AAR on my site.

I'm still expanding the bulge down south near Stalingrad.

Just wondering, what is your airforce doing?

Here's a listing of the squadrons and their position, mission, and current health. There are two squadrons that are down to a handful of planes left, we're not building the aircraft type they have anymore, so the're not going to get any "better" and are on the verge of being evaporated so I moved the Croat squadron to Berlin to "rest" and there's a Romanian bomber squadron that's down to about 9 planes so I moved it to Budapest ( or somewhere in Romania ). Other than that the rest of them are doing AS or CS missions. Nobody is on Interdiction anymore and the AS levels are asymetric: something like 34 for me and 101 for him. He's winning the air war.

Why no interdiction?

Why no interdiction?
The Soviet dude, Dave, has already moved the greatest majority of his units to where they are going so there is very little traffic, what Soviet traffic there is is beyond the range of my fighters so any of my interdictors is going to be interdicting beyond where my fighters can reach and therefore risk being shot down on almost every flight they make. I don't believe I can afford to loose a lot of interdictors right now so I've put a moritorium on interdiction missions so far. If the situation changes, and I doubt that it will anytime soon, then of course the missions will change. The missions that are needed are the ones that will get assigned. Right now I need the CS missions to try to make a hole in the Soviet lines somewhere.
I'm working on my moves for turn 119 right now and have produced the image of the front lines as they are at the beginning of turn 119. You can find that image on the beta version of the AAR which you can find at my site:

Larry,
I've been reading your D21 turn by turn AAR for newbies and it's great! It's helped me understand the game a lot better. I have some questions, however, that I'll post once I get done reading through the whole thing. Thanks for typing it up!

I thought I wasted my time putting that thing together.....I'm glad someone is getting some use out of it.

Take some notes while you're reading and we'll do a marathon Q & A thing. LOL.

It seems like they are quite spread out, have you tried concentrating them on South to try gaining local air superiority?

Most of my fighters are concentrated around Leningrad and Stalingrad ( roughly speaking ) since I need the air cover the most in those two areas. I've noticed that the fighters in the south are sometimes in reorg, more often than the fighters in the north.....that probably means that I need more fighters in the south.

I just received Dave's moves for turn 119. I watch the playback and already it's turn 120. I'll post the beta version of the AAR.
Hey.....off topic a little bit........there's a site in China or somewhere that keeps sending gibberish to my web site. I found the URL in my log(s) and looked it up and here's what I found:

Hey Dave: while you're answering that....how about something about your losses so far. I'd be curious to know what the Soviet losses are right about now.

I put some code in the web server to ignore the Chinese dudes that try to break into my site. Let's see them hijack my site now.

Here's infantry losses at end of turn 120:
@Ribak:
Stalingrad doesn't hold long. I'm bringing more troops there every turn but Axis pressure is so damn hard.
Leningrad fortress keeps up good defence pretty well. I still have the City central-hex. LOL. That's great thing.

you have enough rifle squads on hand to build 220 rifle divisions. [X(]
and each turn you add enough to build 8 more rifle divisions. [:D]

Yeah. After loss of Stalingrad & Leningrad R-Squad rate will be something like 1000 - 1100+ /turn.
