Good move Mayhemizer on preserving the Harbin MIL. Its always a good thing to keep the MIL's from cities the enemy could or will take...you can use them for anti partisan duty, etc...

Harbin attack would have been actually +9 or +10. But Japs need every unit to form a line in Manchuria. All Japs can hope is rain. All winter and spring rain, rain and rain... Those nasty cavalry in north and south try to put us OOS.

Do the Japs wish to provided Emergency HQ support at Wuhan? Odds change from +10 to +3.33.

Japs can fly a 1-factor bomber to the Harbin Mil. Does it want to fly?

Japs uses HQ support at Wuhan.

In Manchuria bomber will fly and fighter will cover if needed. Bomber will land to Kirin and fighter to Changchun.

Japan chooses Assault in both attacks.

Terauchi sends his last reserves of supplies to the defenders of Wuhan. Zhukov adds HQ support. The Japs add 1 point of ground support. The Ftr isn't needed.

In Manchuria, the Soviets use winterized bonus. They get the job done but we won't be hearing much from them for the rest of the turn.

The Nationalists put in a good effort.

That Chinese attack was remarkable. When I make attacks like that, I roll an 11, and kill all three attacking units. [:)]

If I'd remembered Emergency HQ support before calling the attack, I wouldn't have called it. I saw that initial +10 and charged on. Even so, I was curious whether Mayhemizer would use it as it would put the HQ disorganised and OOS. Perhaps he has a cunning plan for that or simply the turn ending as the chance will be pretty high now.

Fortunately the dice went my way.

Final result 15 would have costed you 2 units. So anything less than 16 would have been great for me.

Now Japs hopes for turn end, Germany not so much.

Ultimately, it was a foolish attack to launch but then got lucky.

After failed attack against CAV I realized you might attack Wuhan and put them OOS. I decided before hand to use HQ, my goal was to cause losses to Chinese and disorganize attacking units. Looks like Japs don't get everything they want. Germany has a chance to take Paris before J/F 1940 ends, let's see how my ground strikes go.
